Name: Natacha Sommer
Pillar: The Spirit, The Mind
Who is this coach for: Anyone, especially business leaders and entrepreneurs who want to achieve financial freedom while being on purpose with their work.
How they can help: By using award winning products, mindset and spiritual tools, as well as designing an action plan.

First of all, how are you and your family doing in these Pandemic times?

As an expat living in Switzerland, in the beginning of the pandemic it was challenging not knowing when I would be able to visit my family in Portugal.

However, as the rules relaxed nowadays its much easier and I am very grateful to be able to travel and see them easily.

Additionally, I am grateful that I have an online business that allows me to work from anywhere.

How does the coronavirus pandemic affect your clients? Did it affect you at all?

In the beginning of my business I was coaching executive women in the Financial Industry to improve their leadership skills and to accelerate their career goals.

My clients had great success, however, when the pandemic started there was such a disruption that my business had to pivot.

That was when I decided to expand it and to start working with leaders who want to have their own business in the personal development industry.

I now help driven leaders become business owners in the Personal Development Industry with a turn key business model, proven business strategies and Award Winning Products.

This space has expanded a lot during the pandemic because a lot of people understood their priorities and have decided that they want their career to be a meaningful one, that they want to have a positive impact in our society while having an amazing lifestyle.

What are the biggest lessons that you learned in this pandemic?

The pandemic made me really look at my life and commit even more deeply with my values.

I asked myself, How can I contribute? How can I have a bigger impact? How can I leave the world a better place? What legacy do I want to leave? What is really important for me?

My purpose work became even more important and also helping people to have a paradigm shift in the way they lead their lives and work.

The Origin:

Tell us about you, your career, how you started with your coaching career?

I started my career in Lisbon in the Investment Banking Industry, structuring investment solutions for Institutional Clients.

In 2011, I started in the Private Banking Industry in Luxembourg and then Switzerland.

During this period, I was part of the Global Wealth Solutions team where I was responsible for business development and growth by coordinating, launching and communicating new products and services to be offered globally to the Private Bank clients.

In 2017 as part of my executive leadership development I had been exposed to coaching and it really allowed to me to accelerate my career growth, so in 2019 I decided to leave the corporate world and start my own business in the Personal Development Industry. I was looking for a way to work that would allow me to have more freedom in terms of location and time but at the same time maintain the lifestyle I had grown accustomed to.

I am grateful I found the right opportunity for myself.

What was your biggest obstacle that you had to overcome in your life that made you who you are today?

As an expat my biggest obstacle in the beginning was to stop seeing the place I was at as temporary and allowing myself to really build a life in each country where I am at.

Build a routine, relationships, travel as much as I can and enjoy each moment.

After 11 years of living abroad of course my perspective completely changed but I would say this was the most challenging in the beginning.

The Coaching Style:

How do you innovate with coaching your clients?

My clients are looking for a way to achieve financial freedom while being on purpose with their work. I provide my clients the tools so that they can become the leaders they were born to be as fast as possible.

I start with clarifying their financial goals first and then designing an action plan that will take them there. As entrepreneurs, 80% of the game is mindset and energy, only 20% is the action that we take so its important that we take aligned action that is getting us closer to our goals.

Additionally, I work with my own coach so I make sure that I am always growing and expanding so that I can have even a greater impact.

What’s unique about your coaching approach?

A lot of people focus only on mindset.

Rewiring our belief system is important but energy work is in my opinion as important as mindset and gets faster results.

I bring a spiritual component to my work where my clients have access to the tools I use to impact millions of people in the highest vibration possible.

What benefits do your clients get after working with you?

My clients achieve their financial goals faster by having clarity on what they want to achieve, a roadmap to get there and the tools along the way to help them with mindset and making sure all their energy is aligned and focussed on what they want to achieve.

Do you use any specific tools to be efficient with your clients?

The Mindset Tools I use are Award Winning Leadership Courses for Business Owners as well as Wealth Creation Courses.

The Spiritual Tools are Courses on Abundance, Purpose and Quantum Healing.

The Impact:

If you had a super megaphone that, when you speak into, the whole world will hear your message, what would you say?

You can create a life you love.

You can have a six figure business that you are passionate about, working from anywhere, managing your own schedule and impacting millions of people while being on purpose!

What is the greatest lesson you have learned in your life?

If you want to become successful you need to be successful first.

Most people think they have to achieve something before they can feel successful but we can choose to feel successful now and build on that.

Additionally, choose to be surrounded by people that are supportive of your goals, positive, on purpose and that have the life that you aspire for yourself.

Learn how they think, their habits, their routines, what they read, what do they say yes or no to, how they embody their purpose and start becoming the version of yourself that has that as well.

The faster you do this the quicker you will create the life of your dreams.

Your final thoughts?

If you are ready to positively impact millions of people by helping them transform their lives, contact us to find out how can you can pursue your life’s purpose.

Here is How to Handle an Emergency Situation

In an emergency, a person’s first instinct will always be to panic.

However, you can’t do that because panicking will only make the situation worse.

You need to stay calm and think clearly so you can take the necessary steps to stay safe.

There are some emergencies you should know how to manage and how you can stay safe during them.

Don’t be caught clueless and unprepared in an emergency! Here are some tips to help you stay safe during a natural disaster or emergency situation.

Here is How to Handle an Emergency:

how-to-handle-an-emergency

Fire.

Witnessing a fire from afar is already scary enough, but when you’re right in the middle of it, it can be extremely frightening.

This is why you need to think about what you can do in case a fire breaks out.

What you should do: Make sure all doors and windows are closed to prevent the fire from entering through those places.

The last thing you’ll want is to inhale the smoke that’s already inside your home. And when outside, make sure to stay away from any open flame.

Where you should go: If you’re still standing outside, go as far as a few blocks away from the scene. If there’s a store or someone else that can provide shelter, go there instead.

Once you’re a safe distance away from the fire, call the authorities so it can be put out immediately.

Natural disasters.

Natural disasters can strike suddenly and without warning, which is why you should make sure you have a plan.

For this, you’ll want to check the weather forecast regularly so you can be prepared for anything.

What you should do: Prepare a first aid kit and emergency weather radio as you would for any sort of emergency.

Also, make sure to find out if your home is equipped with a shelter, just in case the weather forecast says that there might be a tornado or hurricane.

Where you should go: If you’re inside, get to the nearest basement or storm shelter. But if there isn’t one, go to a room that doesn’t have windows and take cover.

Then cover yourself with anything that can shield you from the debris. If there’s no time to do any of this, get underneath something sturdy like a desk or table.

If you’re outside, the safest place to go is inside a building. If there isn’t one around, you can crouch near a strong structure and cover your head. Be careful not to stand under any trees because they will most likely be pulled from the ground.

Car Accident.

An accident can happen to anyone anytime, anywhere, usually, it’s during the most inconvenient time.

That’s why you should never leave your house without being completely alert. And you shouldn’t treat it as if you’re immune to it either because it can happen to you too.

What you should do: If you’re the one involved in the accident, try to pull over somewhere safe. If you can, get out of your car and make sure everyone is okay.

If it’s not safe to do this, stay in your car and call the authorities immediately.

Where you should go: If someone is hurt or in need of assistance, take them to the nearest urgent care center.

However, if there are no injuries, but your car is damaged, you should call a tow truck as soon as possible to take the car to the shop.

Public Shooting.

You never know when you might be in a crowd of people when someone decides to aim randomly and pull the trigger.

If you find yourself in this situation, you must get out of the way as soon as possible because bullets can hit anyone.

What you should do: Immediately start running in the opposite direction of the gunfire. If you’re in a public place with crowds, get to a safe place immediately.

If you can’t, get on the ground and play dead. This will make you less of a target to avoid getting shot and allow for a quick escape.

Where you should go: Once you’re in a safe place, call the authorities and explain what happened.

This way they can come in and take care of the situation. But until then, you should stay in hiding because the shooter might still be around.

Animal Attack.

There’s no reason to believe that you’re immune to attacks by animals just because you’ve never been hurt by one before, especially when you’re in their territory.

Even if it’s a tiny little spider or rabbit, you’re not safe and should always be on the lookout for an attack.

What you should do: If there are glass windows nearby, break them and collect the shards. You can use these to protect yourself in case the animal comes near by trying to stab it with the pointy end.

Where you should go: Find a solid surface nearby and either stand on top of it or hold on to it. If there isn’t anything nearby, you can climb up the nearest tree and wait until the animal gives up.

What you should remember?

So, no matter what the emergency is, always remember to stay calm and think logically because your life depends on it.

By following these tips, you’ll be able to keep yourself safe in any situation and can get out of harm’s way.

Find Life Coach | Meet Barbara Lane: How to Remove Anxiety and Get Hope About Life?

Barbara Lane is one of the coaches that we found this month and we did a little interview with her. She is a certified life coach and she impressed us with her vast experience of doing this work, over 29 years! Her approach is strongly based on a human to human connection, kindness and empathy. She truly finds great happiness and honor in seeing her clients transform themselves and their lives into a much better version. Here is what she said.

Meet Life Coach Barbara Lane:

find-life-coach-barbara-lane

Name: Barbara Lane
Pillar: The Heart
Who is this coach for: Anyone who wants to remove anxiety, transform their negative perception, and find hope to make a positive transformation.
How they can help: By using different tools like CBT, breathing techniques, guided imagery, visualizations, reframing techniques, to name a few.

First of all, how are you and your family doing in these Pandemic times?

The pandemic has been hard for all of us. It is a huge collective trauma that will be felt for a long time.

Thankfully, my family and I have not suffered devastating loss as some have suffered. I have had a couple of family members who got very sick, one for a few months, but never requiring hospitalization or had significant long lasting effects.

I hope this stays the case as the pandemic continues, to be alive and well too.

How does the coronavirus pandemic affect your clients? Did it affect you at all?

Many of my clients had to leave their employment and stay home with their children as the kids were schooled virtually. This has put a strain on people’s finances as well as their relationships and their mental health.

The isolation and uncertainty have increased depression and anxiety. I know myself.. it was difficult staying away from family before we had the availability of vaccinations.

I have adult children and a granddaughter that I am great buddies with and being apart for so long was heart wrenching.

We wrote letters back and forth which is a great skill for her, read the same books so we could call and discuss them together. It was a way for us to remain connected and to share in something together without being together.

Also not being able to see my elderly parents was hard but getting them sick would have been harder.

What are the biggest lessons that you learned in this pandemic?

Clearly, this pandemic caused me to re-evaluate what is important in my life.

It has shifted my focus to spending more time with who matters most to me.

It has also caused me to become more self reliant.

The Origin:

Tell us about you, your career, how you started with your coaching career?

This is a story that spans a 29 year journey!

When I went to school for nursing, I thought I wanted to be a trauma flight nurse. I was an EMT and loved helicopters, so I thought it was a good fit.

That all went out the window when I did my psychiatric clinical rotation. I immediately felt as though I had stepped into an old comfortable shoe. Everything seemed to come very natural to me. I knew this was it!

After nursing school, I worked in an inpatient psychiatric nurse position, where I spent 7 years caring for the acute side of mental illness.

After that, I took a position as an outpatient community mental health nurse, where I would work the next 14 years before going on to obtain my master’s degree in psychiatric mental health in the nurse practitioner focus.

After earning my degree and certification, I worked as a nurse practitioner in the private psychiatric practice arena for a few years. There I conducted group therapy, individual therapy, and medication management.

My favorite part, the part that really excites me, is watching my clients transform.

When they use the tools I have given them along with the changes in mindset or perspective, they begin rapidly improving and moving towards living their best lives.

This brings me joy and I feel so honored to have been let into my client’s lives.

It is courageous to put trust into another like that, so allowing me to come along as a guide on their journey is a true honor. This is what I want to do with the rest of my career.

What was your biggest obstacle that you had to overcome in your life that made you who you are today?

My biggest obstacle was myself!

It took me awhile to believe in myself and my abilities. It has been a process and a journey I am grateful to have experienced.

Until you believe you can do something, you won’t be able to do it. Getting rid of the fear of failure, learning to roll with it and learn from it, has taken me far in life.

The Coaching Style:

How do you innovate with coaching your clients?

I take a very individualized approach with my clients.

I assess each client’s needs then pull from my vast resources of tools, skills, techniques, and modalities depending on the needs and desires of my clients. I use some CBT, motivational interviewing, and solution focused modalities.

It is eclectic and evolving as I continue to study and gain new tools, those are added into the tome of tools collected over 29 years of practice.

What’s unique about your coaching approach?

I think my unique background of training and experience both in the field of mental health, but also body and spirit give me a very holistic focus to my coaching.

I have very genuine love and acceptance of people and I think that fosters our connection.

What benefits do your clients get after working with you?

Most get the benefit of hope after the first session.

Hope is necessary for moving forward in change. If you have no hope that things will improve, there is no motivation to put in the effort to make the changes necessary for transformation of your life.

Along with feeling hopeful, clients gain a clear sense of direction and feel motivated to make changes in thinking and behaving. They gain skills in coping, communication, relationship building and maintaining.

They also gain a different perspective that helps them with their own insights into their own problems.

The skills learned provide them with grit to get through adversity and come out on the other side better for it.

Do you use any specific tools to be efficient with your clients?

I use breathing techniques, guided imagery, visualizations, reframing techniques to name a few.

Many times, I discover the client is operating on a mind that anxiety has run away with and created scenarios that are not even based on facts or reality.

Getting the client to remove emotion from the circumstance and function on the facts only is a helpful process to move the client forward.

The Impact:

If you had a super megaphone that, when you speak into, the whole world will hear your message, what would you say?

We are all one and here to love one another!

What is the greatest lesson you have learned in your life?

I had some experiences in my life where I was given knowledge that we are all of one spirit.

Seeing everyone from that perspective has been one of my greatest gifts given to me.

We are all brothers and sisters and her here to learn to love one another, period.

Your final thoughts?

I think coaching has the capability of changing the world, and not just for the current generation of the person being coached.

When they make changes, others notice, they model the changes and tools, and skills are passed down to their children for their use in excelling at life and it goes on and on.

I am hoping to affect generations that come well after I am gone. It is a ripple effect of resiliency and is a beautiful thought.

6 Questions To Know When Is The Right Time To Take Your Senior Loved One For Assisted Living

Did you know that more than a million older American adults reside in assisted living communities?

This is according to the National Center for assisted living and the American healthcare association.

Assisted living care facilities such as https://vivanteliving.com/ offer seniors access to 24 hour care with daily assistance so long as they don’t require specialized dementia or nursing care.

Assisted living provides a good facility for seniors who require assistance with daily activities throughout the day though they remain as independent as possible.

Determining the proper care for your aging loved one and knowing when it’s time to seek help may be challenging.

However, it is essential to know when it is the right time to seek help and take your loved one for assisted living. Here are some questions that may guide you to determine the right time for assisted living.

6 Questions To Know When To Take Your Senior Loved One For Assisted Living:

questions-to-know-the-right-time-to-take-your-senior-assisted-living

1. Does your aging parent or loved one need help with activities of daily living?

Suppose your loved one requires assistance with activities of daily living (ADLs) such as dressing, bathing, going to the bathroom, medication management, or mobility. In that case, it may be time for assisted living.

Medication management is the most common concern amongst caregivers and seniors. Missing medication, overdosing, or under dosing pose a real danger for seniors.

The CDC estimates that 350000 people are taken to hospital every year due to medication mismanagement.

Assisted living communities offer help with bathing, other daily tasks, and, more importantly, medical management for your aging loved one.

Coping with life, work kids, bathing, dressing, and looking after your senior loved one can take a toll on anyone, and assisted living may be the answer you need.

2. Can you continue being a caregiver for a long time?

If caring for your aging parents or a family member has proven overwhelming, assisted living may be of great help.

Taking a proactive approach to finding compassionate care and trained professionals may allow you to maintain your relationship with your elderly loved one without the constant pressures of caregiving.

One of the main pressures of caregiving is the cost of finances, such as the cost of family caregiving.

This can mean lost income for primary caregivers and home accommodation expenses such as safety locks, wheelchair ramps, grab bars.

Or any other home renovations you need to undertake to make your senior loved one safe and comfortable in your care.

It’s essential to be realistic and honest about the time and expectations you are placing on yourself. Can you be a caregiver for the long term?

3. Does your senior loved one need more opportunities for socialization?

Seniors in assisted living make connections with not only the professional staff but also with other residents living there.

These connections and friendships help prevent senior isolation and loneliness and increase the seniors’ chances of participating in physical activities, which is good for their overall health and well-being.

If your aging parent seems bored at home and is often isolated, assisted living may help.

They encourage residents to participate in activities such as happy hours, fitness classes, game nights, etc. This provides an opportunity for seniors to interact and be social with their peers.

4. Does your senior loved one lack access to proper nutrition?

Most of the time, aging people lack the energy or the resources to go grocery shopping. Moreover, cooking can also become a challenging task for seniors because they have no energy or lack the motivation to cook for one.

When they lack proper nutrition or fail to eat a balanced diet, it can harm their overall nutrition.

If you feel like your loved one is not getting the required nutrition, then assisted living may help. Some of the services they offer are,

They provide three meals a day.

Healthy snacks, fresh fruits, vegetables, and drinks are readily available.

Nutrients and ingredients from any food group.

If your senior is on a special diet that can be provided too.

They also provide weekly menus, which are posted in advance.

Dining rooms with opportunities for interactions during meal times.

5. Would your senior loved one need care coordination?

Does your loved one get sick often? Do you suspect that they are not getting the care they need at home?

Always dealing with running to the hospital can take a toll on you and your loved one. If you also have to attend different appointments at a time during the week may become overwhelming for you.

The good thing about assisted living is that they coordinate care for all their residents.

Therefore, if your loved one lives in an assisted living community, they can access physical therapists, doctors, and other health professionals they need.

If you prefer to see your doctors, the facility can schedule transportation for the senior to attend these appointments.

Furthermore, assisted living staff will ensure they communicate insights from all the appointments your loved one is attending, ensuring you are involved and informed.

6. Are you suffering from physical and mental health?

Sometimes it can get overwhelming taking care of aging loved ones that you forget about your health.

If you neglect your mental and physical health because of caring for someone, it’s time to prioritize yourself.

A few questions that can help are,

How are you feeling about caring for your senior loved one?

How do you feel about yourself? Sad, bitter, tired?

Are you getting enough sleep?

Are you getting enough time to yourself?

Are you getting enough time to be with loved ones or children?

If you have negative answers to any of the questions above, it can be a sign to seek help taking care of your loved one.

What you should remember?

Moving your aging parent to an assisted living community can relieve you if you are consistently overwhelmed.

Feelings of tiredness, stress, and being burdened with caring for someone can harm your physical and mental health.

Caring for a loved one shouldn’t mean compromising your own needs, and if you have persistent health problems, it may be time for assisted living.

4 Ways How to Reach Your Fitness Goals in 2022

The past two years have been rough on everyone, and people have been dealing with their emotions differently. Unfortunately, this means that many people have stopped focusing on their health.

However, the world seems to be slowly returning to normal, and it’s a new year, which means it’s the perfect time of year to set some goals and start working on them.

Most people have some kind of fitness related goal, but they often don’t know where to begin when it comes to achieving it.

That’s what this post is for.

Keep reading to learn more about what you can do to reach your fitness goals in 2022.

4 Ways How to Reach Your Fitness Goals:

how-to-reach-your-fitness-goals

1. Supplements.

With most of us leading busy lives, it’s nearly impossible to reach our nutrition goals simply through our diet.

On top of that, many people may have other things that they are struggling with, such as struggling to sleep, or suffering from a deficiency, that make it harder for them to reach their goals.

Luckily, there are supplements to help with most of these problems.

If there’s an area in your nutrition that you are struggling with, chances are you can find a supplement to help.

Companies like Luma Nutrition offer various products that can help you reach your goals.

2. Focus on your diet.

While supplements can be helpful, you can’t only rely on them for your nutrition needs, which is why it’s so important to pay attention to your diet and nutrition.

If you have certain fitness goals like weight loss or muscle gain, you will need to make adjustments to how many calories you are eating.

People who are focused on gaining muscle also need to eat more protein. If this is something you struggle with, don’t worry, there are plenty of ways to increase your protein intake.

3. Join a gym.

Of course, there are plenty of exercises that you can do to help you reach your fitness goals even if you don’t join a gym.

That being said, it will be much easier to achieve your goals if you do join a gym. That’s because gyms give you access to a lot of equipment, as well as classes hosted by professionals.

On top of that, many people find that paying for a gym membership helps to keep them accountable.

Keep in mind that we are living in strange times, so you need to be sure that you choose the right gym during the pandemic.

4. Be consistent.

No matter how much you may want them to, results don’t happen overnight.

Many people start working towards their fitness goals, and then give up when they don’t see results within a few weeks.

But building up your strength and fitness is something that takes a lot of time, so you need to be patient.

If you slip up, that’s okay! One bad day isn’t going to ruin your progress. You just need to stay consistent.

A big part of this comes from your motivation.

If you struggle to stay motivated, these tips may help you.

The 6 Most Effective Natural Pain Relief Methods

Pain, especially chronic pain, can make your life harder, reduce your productivity and impact numerous parts of your life.

While there are medications to help manage and relieve pain, they come with unwanted side effects such as dependency and withdrawal.

Natural pain relief options, on the other hand, are inexpensive, easy to try, and do not come with the side effects associated with pain medication.

To help reduce your pain, here are the six best natural pain relief options you could try.

6 Most Effective Natural Pain Relief Methods:

natural-pain-relief-methods

1. Exercise.

The body produces pain killers known as endorphins. These are hormones that increase the body’s pain threshold by interacting with brain receptors to change how the body perceives pain.

Exercise that gets the blood pumping hard for a long period causes the body to release these endorphins.

Endorphins are not only great at helping reduce pain, but they also help induce feelings of satisfaction and pleasure.

2. Massage Therapy.

Massage is the manipulation of various muscles in the body using different techniques.

Massages increase blood flow, reduce muscle tension, and help improve moods.

Massage therapy has been shown to reduce pain, although what works is different for everyone.

Because of this, it would be a good idea to try different types of massages to see which one works for your particular kind of pain.

3. Herbal Supplements.

Herbal supplements have been proven to be a great alternative to pain medication such as hydrocodone and oxycodone, with few to no side effects, while being very effective.

One such herbal supplement is kratom which is described as a natural pain relief alternative for those living with chronic pain.

Kratom works by binding to opioid receptors in the brain, helping reduce pain reception and thus acting as a great pain relief and management option.

Kratom also improves other effects caused by chronic pain by reducing anxiety, improving moods and productivity, and much more. This comprehensive guide to kratom explains everything you need to know about this pain relief option.

4. Foods with Anti inflammatory Properties.

Inflammation is a common cause of pain, and it therefore follows that reducing inflammation can help alleviate pain.

You can do so by including foods that have anti inflammatory properties in your diet.

Some of these foods include vegetables, beans, whole grains, nuts, and foods that have a high omega 3 content, like fish.

Some diets like the Mediterranean diet contain many of the foods that have these properties, and this is why they have been linked to better health and the reduced risk of certain conditions like heart disease.

These anti inflammatory foods have also been linked to the reduction of pain in conditions like osteoarthritis.

5. Meditation.

There has been a lot of research carried out on the topic of meditation and studies have found that meditation has various positive effects such as reducing stress and depression, helping us sleep better, improving our moods, and reducing pain.

The best thing about using meditation to reduce pain is that there is no one right or wrong way to do it.

6. Heat and Cold Therapies.

Heat and cold therapies have been used for a long time to treat pain.

Hot baths infused with Epsom salts have been shown to relax the mind and change the way we perceive pain thus providing relief.

Ice can also provide relief, but it has to be used the right way. Place ice on acute injuries as soon as you can to reduce inflammation.

Using heat in this instance would increase blood flow and increase the swelling. Heat therapies are best for back spasms and chronic pain.

What you should remember?

The pain relief alternatives discussed above are great to consider whether you have acute or chronic pain.

If you do not find relief, talk to a doctor to find another pain relief option.

Find Life Coach | Meet Tammy Goen: How to Thrive as a Highly Sensitive Person in The Modern World?

Tammy Goen is one of the coaches that we found this month and we did a little interview with her. She impressed us with her emotional mastery and the ability to help other sensitive people unleash their real potential. As a highly sensitive person herself, Tammy helps her clients release unconscious beliefs and self talk and free themselves from those vicious loops that keep them stuck in life. But not just that! She helps her clients see that their sensitive nature is, actually, their greatest strength. Here is what she said.

Meet Life Coach Tammy Goen:

Name: Tammy Goen
Pillar: The Heart
Who is this coach for: Mainly highly sensitive people who want to feel less stressed, overwhelmed, or anxious, and find their true strength.
How they can help: By using techniques like EFT or Tapping to identify and shift trauma residue that keeps us stuck, also, mindfulness meditation and guided imagery among the many.

First of all, how are you and your family doing in these Pandemic times?

While my longing for connection has been challenged during this time, as an introverted Highly Sensitive Person the increased alone time and decreased activity have actually resonated well with me.

I’ve learned to reach out more, virtually and by phone, with those in my extended family and inner circle that I don’t see regularly and that’s been a nice addition.

One of the most challenging things for me, and many, is the decrease in hugs. Physical human contact is so important.

How does the coronavirus pandemic affect your clients? Did it affect you at all?

The effects are so varied.

Some have relished the alone time and the calmness of localized life, some are affected greatly by the divisiveness and chaos of the country and world, some have struggled with setting boundaries and finding solitude while spending almost every minute with family.

As a result of everything, I think people are experiencing the urge and need to finally pay attention to their own needs and actually create their lives rather than allowing expectations, habits, and the status quo to dictate.

What are the biggest lessons that you learned in this pandemic?

Make sure to reach out to others to stay in touch and continue the connection even when we can’t see them in person.

Focus often on the things that make us happy and let go of everything else.

Choose love over fear.

The Origin:

Tell us about you, your career, how you started with your coaching career?

I always saw myself as a helper and from the time I took my first college psychology course, I knew it would be my career path… to help others.

I worked for many years counseling survivors of trauma until I quite suddenly reached burnout and had to shift my career focus.

Only years later did I become aware of the High Sensitivity trait and realized why I wasn’t able to maintain my work as a counselor.

Being unaware of my needs as a Highly Sensitive Person, I had chosen a very intensive subset of clients without creating strong energetic boundaries and intention.

Many years after shifting my helping career to massage and energy work I began to miss working at an emotional level with clients.

As a counselor, I had focused a lot on changing mindset to change behavior (cognitive behavioral therapy), combined with the energy work and various mindfulness and meditation programs I’d learned, it was a natural fit to shift into holistic coaching and incorporate all of these modalities.

Prior to my shift to coaching, I became aware of the trait of High Sensitivity, and not only did I understand my burnout while counseling, but my whole life came into focus and made sense.

Highly Sensitives process information more deeply, thus things affect us more, we have a harder time letting go or ignoring things, our emotions can be intense, we feel energy intensely, and are seen as ‘too’ sensitive in the world.

This knowledge helped me reframe my whole life to that point. As my coaching practice grew, I began to recognize that the majority of my clients were also Highly Sensitive Persons, or HSP.

I began to focus primarily on working to help other HSPs decrease overwhelm, develop strong self acceptance and self love, and realize that their sensitivities can actually be their Super Power.

What was your biggest obstacle that you had to overcome in your life that made you who you are today?

My lack of self worth was always my biggest obstacle, and when I discovered that I wasn’t crazy or weird or somehow wrong and needing to be fixed… I was just Highly Sensitive, my self validation and worth increased monumentally.

It was especially helpful to learn that it wasn’t just me. 20% of the population experiences life in a similar way, and it’s a genetic trait… just the way we’re wired.

I learned to honor my Sensitive self and discovered how I can use, and have been using, my sensitivities to help others and have a very rich life experience.

The Coaching Style:

How do you innovate with coaching your clients?

From my holistic approach, I help clients address emotions, lifestyle, mindset, patterns, relationships, and spirituality.

Through my HSP filters, I can really understand what they’re going through and sense what is helpful for them and I incorporate an eclectic range of tools, including EFT or Tapping, meditation, and inner child work, as well as energy healing.

What’s unique about your coaching approach?

As a Highly Sensitive Person, I understand other HSPs… what their experience is like living in a world that’s 80% not Highly Sensitive.

When they share their struggles, I get it. My trait also helps me understand non HSPs.

I use not just one, but many tools and approach solutions from many sides. Every journey is different, as every client is different.

What benefits do your clients get after working with you?

Feeling less stressed, overwhelmed, or anxious.

Feeling confidence in setting and maintaining boundaries and honoring themselves at all times.

Also, feeling validated from within regardless of what others are doing or saying. Being able to honor their sensitivities and allow them to be the strengths that they are, so life is peaceful, joyful, and rewarding.

Do you use any specific tools to be efficient with your clients?

I use many different techniques, but find EFT or Tapping, to be particularly helpful in identifying and shifting unhelpful beliefs and trauma residue that keep us stuck and repeating the same patterns. Mindfulness, meditation, and guided imagery are also very powerful.

The Impact:

If you had a super megaphone that, when you speak into, the whole world will hear your message, what would you say?

If you’re Highly Sensitive… celebrate that!

You’re not weird, wrong, ridiculous, needing to be fixed, or ‘too’ anything…

You have so much to offer the world.

What is the greatest lesson you have learned in your life?

In order to be the person I want to be, in work and in all of my relationships, and for the world as a whole, I first have to take care of and honor myself.

Your final thoughts?

Life is challenging for everyone right now, and it can be even more so for HSPs, but it is possible to not just survive, but thrive as a Highly Sensitive Person.
