ADD (Attention Deficit Disorder)

A subtype of ADHD primarily characterized by inattention and distractibility, without the hyperactivity component.

Addiction Coaching

A type of coaching that helps individuals overcome addiction and maintain long-term recovery. It often involves creating a personalized plan for recovery, providing support and accountability, and helping clients address underlying issues that may contribute to addiction.

Adjustment Disorders with Depressed Mood (ADDM)

A mental health condition triggered by a significant life change or stressor, leading to emotional and behavioral symptoms, including depression.

Affirmations

Positive statements that are used to reinforce a desired belief or behavior. They can be used to build confidence, motivation, and resilience.

Aging Coaching

Anger Management

Anxiety

Anxiety Coaching

Assertiveness

Astrology Coaching

Atypical Depression (AD)

A subtype of depression characterized by mood reactivity and symptoms such as increased appetite, excessive sleep, and sensitivity to rejection.

Authenticity
The quality of being genuine, true to one’s own personality, values, and spirit, regardless of external pressures.

Belief System

A set of beliefs and values that a person holds to be true. It can influence behavior, attitudes, and decision-making.

Belief Systems

A set of principles or tenets that form the basis of a religion, philosophy, or moral code.

Bipolar Disorder (BD)

A mental health condition marked by extreme mood swings, including episodes of mania (elevated mood) and depression.

Board Certified Coach (BCC)

A professional coach who has been certified by the Center for Credentialing and Education (CCE). It is a recognized credential in the coaching industry.

Body Image Coaching

A type of coaching that helps individuals develop a positive body image and overcome negative beliefs about their appearance. It can involve building self-esteem, developing a healthy relationship with food and exercise, and addressing underlying emotional issues.

Borderline Personality Disorder (BPD)

A mental illness characterized by unstable moods, behavior, and relationships, often involving impulsivity and intense emotional experiences.

Boundaries

Limits that a person sets on their interactions with others to protect their personal space, emotions, and mental well-being.

Brainstorming

A group creativity technique used to generate a large number of ideas for the solution to a problem.

Client

A person who engages the services of a coach.

Confidence

Confidentiality

Content Marketing

A marketing strategy that involves creating and sharing valuable content to attract and engage a target audience. It can include blog posts, videos, social media posts, and other types of content.

Core Values

Fundamental beliefs or guiding principles that dictate behavior and action.

Creative Visualization

The practice of using mental imagery to achieve a particular goal.

Creativity

The ability to generate new and innovative ideas or solutions. Creativity is a highly valued skill in many fields, including business, art, and technology.

Crisis Intervention

Immediate, short term assistance provided to individuals experiencing an acute mental health crisis, aiming to stabilize and support them.

Crystal Healing

An alternative therapy using crystals and gemstones to promote physical, emotional, and spiritual healing by balancing energy fields.

Customer Service Coaching

A form of coaching that helps individuals develop skills and strategies for providing excellent customer service. Customer service coaching can include topics such as communication, problem-solving, and conflict resolution.

Decision Making

Defining Success

Depression Coaching

Discovery Session

An initial meeting or consultation between a coach and client to determine whether coaching is a good fit and to set goals for the coaching relationship.

Diversity and Inclusion Coaching

Coaching that focuses on promoting diversity, equity, and inclusion in the workplace or other settings. Diversity and inclusion coaching can include topics such as bias awareness, cultural competence, and allyship.

Drama Therapy

A therapeutic approach that uses role-playing, storytelling, and theatrical techniques to facilitate personal growth and emotional healing.

Dysthymia

Also known as Persistent Depressive Disorder (PDD), a chronic form of depression with milder but long lasting symptoms.

Emotion

Energy in motion. A complex psychological state involving three distinct components: a subjective experience (meaning assigned), a physiological response (a sensation within the body), and a behavioral or expressive response. Emotions are reactions to significant events or situations happening within or without the person. They play a crucial role in human behavior, influencing decision-making, social interactions, and overall mental health. Understanding and managing emotions is key to emotional intelligence, which involves recognizing, expressing, and regulating one’s own emotions as well as empathizing with others’ emotions. Emotions are essential for personal growth, healthy relationships, and effective communication.

Emotional Coaching

Coaching that helps individuals identify and manage their emotions in order to achieve personal or professional goals. Emotional coaching can include techniques for regulating emotions, understanding emotions, improving communication, and building resilience.

Emotional Intelligence

The ability to recognize, understand, and manage one’s own emotions and the emotions of others. Emotional intelligence is a key skill in many areas of life, including leadership, communication, and relationships.

Emotional Intelligence Assessment

A tool or test used to measure an individual’s emotional intelligence. Emotional intelligence assessments can provide valuable insights into strengths and areas for improvement.

Empathy

The ability to understand and share the feelings of another person. Empathy is an important skill in many areas of life, including personal relationships and leadership.

Energy Coaching

Coaching that focuses on helping individuals increase their energy levels and improve their overall well-being. Energy coaching can include strategies for improving sleep, nutrition, and physical activity.

Energy Healing

A holistic practice that involves channeling healing energy into a person’s body to restore balance and improve physical, emotional, and spiritual well-being. Energy healing is based on the belief that energy flows through the body and can become blocked or imbalanced, leading to illness or distress. Practitioners use various techniques to clear these blockages and promote the body’s natural healing abilities. Common forms of energy healing include Reiki, acupuncture, qigong, and therapeutic touch. Energy Management

Energy Release

The process of consciously and intentionally releasing stored emotional, mental, or energetic tension or blockages from the nervous system. Energy release techniques aim to facilitate the free flow of energy throughout the body’s energy centers or meridians, promoting a sense of balance, relaxation, and well being. This release can occur through various practices, such as breathwork, meditation, movement therapies, bodywork, or expressive arts. By letting go of suppressed emotions, limiting beliefs, or negative thought patterns, individuals can experience greater clarity, emotional resilience, and vitality. Energy release is often a key component of holistic healing modalities aimed at restoring harmony and promoting holistic health.

Energy Suppression

The act of consciously or unconsciously repressing, denying, or suppressing emotional or energetic experiences, often as a coping mechanism to avoid discomfort or pain. Energy suppression can occur when individuals try to ignore or push down their emotions, desires, or instincts, rather than acknowledging and processing them in a healthy manner. This can lead to the accumulation of unresolved emotional energy, which may manifest in physical symptoms, psychological distress, or interpersonal conflicts over time. While energy suppression may provide temporary relief from unpleasant feelings, it can hinder personal growth, inhibit authentic expression, and contribute to long term emotional imbalances. Enneagram Assessment

A personality assessment tool based on the Enneagram model. Enneagram assessments can provide insights into an individual’s motivations, strengths, and challenges.

Entrepreneurial Coaching

Guidance provided to individuals starting or growing a business to help them overcome challenges and achieve business success.

Events

Various organized happenings (virtual and in person) dedicated to help people connect with likeminded individuals, foster a transformative community, educate, inspare, and guide people to become the best version of themselves. This is done through speeches, workshops, panel discussions and networking.

Equine Therapy

A therapeutic intervention involving interactions with horses to improve mental health, enhance emotional regulation, and develop social skills.

Executive Coaching

Professional coaching that focuses on helping executives and other high-level leaders develop their skills and achieve their goals. Executive coaching can include topics such as strategic thinking, communication, and leadership.

Feeling

The emotional component of a sensation.

Feedback

Information or input provided to an individual or group in order to help them improve. Feedback can be given in many forms, including verbal or written communication.

Feng Chui Coaching

Type of coaching that focuses on using the principles of feng shui to create a harmonious and balanced environment. Feng shui coaching can include tips for arranging furniture, choosing colors, and using decor to enhance the flow of energy in a space.

Fitness Coaching

Type of coaching that focuses on helping individuals improve their physical fitness and overall health. Fitness coaching can include strategies for exercise, nutrition, and stress management.

Focus

The center of interest or activity, often referring to the ability to concentrate on a particular task.

Forgiveness

The act of letting go of resentment or anger towards oneself or others. Forgiveness is an important component of many coaching programs, as it can help individuals move past limiting beliefs and emotional blocks.

Goal Setting

The process of identifying specific, measurable, achievable, relevant, and time-bound goals. Goal setting is a key component of many coaching programs, as it provides direction and motivation for individuals to achieve their desired outcomes.

Gratitude

The quality of being thankful and appreciative of the good things in your life. Practicing gratitude can improve mental health and overall well-being.

Gratitude Journaling

The practice of writing down things that you are thankful for each day. It helps to cultivate a positive mindset and reduce stress and anxiety.

Grief Coaching

Support and guidance provided to individuals coping with loss to help them navigate the grieving process.

Group Coaching

Form of coaching that involves multiple individuals at once. It can be a cost-effective way to receive coaching and also provides the opportunity to learn from others in the group.

Habits

Regular practices or routines that are often done subconsciously and can be beneficial or detrimental.

Happiness

A state of well-being and contentment.

Health Coaching

Herbal Remedies

Holistic Coaching

Holistic Health

Hypnotherapy

ICF (International Coaching Federation)

The International Coaching Federation is the leading global organization dedicated to advancing the coaching profession. They set ethical standards, provide accreditation for coach training programs, and certify individual coaches.

ICF-Accredited Coach Training Program

A program that meets the rigorous standards set by the International Coaching Federation. Completing an accredited program is a requirement for becoming an ICF-certified coach.

Identity

The qualities, beliefs, personality, looks, and/or expressions that make a person or group.

Informed Consent

The process of providing all relevant information about a coaching relationship, including the coach’s qualifications, the coaching process, and potential risks and benefits. The client then decides whether to enter into the coaching relationship.

Inner Critic

The voice inside your head that criticizes your actions and decisions, often leading to self-doubt and insecurity.

Inspiration

The process of being mentally stimulated to do or feel something, especially something creative.

Intuition

The ability to understand something immediately, to predict or to sense from your surroundings, without the need for conscious reasoning.

Job Satisfaction

The extent to which an individual is content with their job and its aspects.

Journaling

The practice of writing down thoughts, feelings, and experiences to reflect and gain insights.

Journaling Prompts

Questions or statements designed to inspire reflection and writing in a journal. They can be used in coaching to encourage self-discovery and goal-setting.

Journeys

Curated bundles of articles, videos, and courses designed to help readers achieve specific goals or solve particular problems. These comprehensive guides provide structured pathways for personal and professional growth, addressing a wide range of topics.

Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)

Quantifiable metrics used to evaluate the success of personal or professional goals.

Landing Page

A web page designed to capture a visitor’s information and convert them into a lead or customer. It is typically used in marketing campaigns and often includes a lead magnet.

Law of Attraction Coaching

A type of coaching that focuses on harnessing the power of positive thinking to attract success and abundance in life.

Leadership Coaching

A type of coaching that focuses on developing leadership skills and qualities. It can include areas such as communication, decision-making, and team building.

Leadership Development

The process of improving and expanding leadership skills and abilities through training and coaching.

Life Balance

The state of equilibrium between personal life and professional life.

Life Coaching

An umbrella term for all types of coaching that improve someone’s life. We are separating these types of coaching in 4 main categories: Spirit, Mind, Body, Heart, and each of them focus on different aspects of the human being. Spirit focuses on spirituality, purpose, beliefs, paradigm, manifestation, discipline, character and narrative. Mind focuses on mindset, thinking patterns, cognition and mental abilities, mindfulness, addictions, behavior, performance, business, productivity. Body focuses on physical health, nutrition, exercise, yoga, sleep, hygiene, healing, supplements and healthy lifestyle. Heart focuses on emotions, trauma, relationships, chakras, energy, motivation, positivity.

Life Purpose

An individual’s overarching reason for being. Discovering one’s life purpose is often a focus in life coaching.

Life Transitions

Periods of significant change or adjustment in one’s life, such as career shifts, relocations, or changes in personal relationships, often requiring coping strategies and support.

Limiting Beliefs

Beliefs or assumptions that hold individuals back from achieving their goals. Coaching can help identify and overcome limiting beliefs.

Listening Skills

The ability to accurately receive and interpret messages during the communication process.

Love Coaching

Guidance provided to individuals to help them improve their romantic relationships.

Marketing Coaching

A type of coaching that helps individuals or businesses improve their marketing strategies and increase their visibility and reach. This type of coaching does not fall under the term Life Coaching.

Massage Therapy

The manipulation of soft tissues in the body through various techniques to alleviate pain, reduce stress, and promote relaxation and healing.

Master Certified Coach (MCC)

The highest level of certification offered by the International Coaching Federation. MCC coaches have completed extensive training and have a high level of coaching experience.

Manifestation

The process of bringing something into reality through focused thought, belief, and action.

Manifestation Coaching

A type of coaching that helps people to master the ability to manifest the desired reality in their life.

Meditation

A practice where an individual uses a technique to train attention and awareness, achieving a mentally clear and emotionally calm state.

Meditation Coaching

Type of coaching that trains individuals on meditation techniques and strategies to improve focus, reduce stress, and enhance overall well-being.

Mental Health Coaching

A type of coaching that focuses on helping individuals manage and improve their mental health. It can include areas such as anxiety, depression, and stress management.

Mental Health Resources

Tools, services, and supports available to individuals for maintaining and improving mental health, including therapy, support groups, and educational materials.

Mentoring

A professional relationship in which an experienced person supports and guides someone less experienced. The difference between mentoring and coaching is that mentoring focuses more on guiding and teaching while coaching focuses more on asking questions and letting the individual discover the answers themselves.

Mindfulness

The practice of maintaining a nonjudgmental state of heightened or complete awareness of one’s thoughts, emotions, and experiences.

Mindfulness Coaching

Coaching individuals on mindfulness practices to improve focus, reduce stress, and enhance overall well-being.

Mindset

A set of attitudes, thinking patterns, and perspectives that influence how individuals think and behave. Mindset coaching can help individuals adopt a more positive and growth-oriented mindset to achieve their goals.

Money Mindset Coaching

A type of coaching that helps individuals shift their beliefs and attitudes towards money to create a healthier and more abundant relationship with finances.

Motivation

The reason or reasons one has for acting or behaving in a particular way.

Motivation Coaching

A type of coaching that helps individuals identify their internal and external sources of motivation and learn strategies to maintain motivation and achieve their goals.

Music Therapy

Myers-Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI)

The Myers-Briggs Type Indicator is a personality assessment tool used to identify an individual’s preferences in four key areas: extroversion/introversion, sensing/intuition, thinking/feeling, and judging/perceiving. MBTI coaching can help individuals understand their personality type and how it relates to their behavior, communication style, and career choices.

Naturopathic Medicine
