Imagine your authentic self as the YOU behind all the masks, the purest essence of who you are.

When we’re born, we’re inherently authentic, but as we grow and navigate life’s complexities, we begin to put on masks.

These masks serve as shields, protecting us from situations that might threaten our identity, beliefs, or social status. They help us be more easily accepted by society.

What’s fascinating is that these masks often accumulate in layers, obscuring our authentic selves even further.

It’s like peeling an onion, except in this case, we’re adding layers instead of removing them.

Paradoxically, these layers do not make us safer, they distance us from our core energy, the essence of our being, putting us further and further away from your true power.

Discover Your Authentic Self: The Power of “I AM”

A pivotal moment in our journey to authenticity occurs when we realize the power of the phrase “I AM.”

It’s a statement that goes beyond language and holds profound significance.

The “I” represents our true selves, while “AM” is the command that molds our reality.

Consider this: whatever comes after “I AM” is the most important word because it’s the word that programs us into being.

To have the life, experiences, and outcomes associated with a particular identity, we must first identify with it.

Contrary to the common belief that success follows the sequence of “DO, TO HAVE, SO YOU CAN BE,” the truth is that it starts with “BE.”

In other words, you must first identify with a certain way of being before you can easily take the corresponding actions and, subsequently, have the things naturally associated with that identity.

Finding the Eye of the Storm

Our authentic selves, often hidden behind layers of masks, are akin to the eye of a storm, a place of perfect stillness and peace.

In any tornado, the calmest and safest place is within its center, it’s called the eye of the storm.

Before reaching the eye of the storm, it might feel like chaos, and you would never think intuitively that going in that direction has any chance of bringing you to peace.

But as you go, suddenly you will reach the center, and even though around you the winds will blow with insane force, there will be peace and calm where you stand.

To reach this center, we must sit with ourselves without distractions, embracing our thoughts and emotions.

This journey can feel like facing the greatest storm, with thoughts and emotions swirling around us.

The mind may scream for distraction, but if we sit with patience and persistence, we’ll eventually reach the calm and serene center, the very peace we’ve been seeking outside of ourselves.

How to Get to the Eye of the Storm

Mornings are the most powerful period of the day.

Your mind is still waking up and it’s easy to mould it.

How we begin our day plays a crucial role in our ability to stay connected to our authentic selves. Unfortunately, many people start their day by instantly turning to their phones, delving into messages, social media, and news.

This habitual morning routine can inevitably draw us into the storms of the world, disconnecting us from our inner center.

To counter this, we should start our day mindfully, dedicating time to ourselves through meditation or self reflection.

One powerful question to ask in the morning, before you even pick up your phone, is: “How can I serve today, how can I be of value for the greater good?”

This introspective practice sets a positive tone for the day and prepares us to handle external challenges from a place of authenticity and inner strength.

What are The Benefits of Being Centered in Your Authenticity?

Our minds are remarkable tools for constructing our perceived reality.

They take in data through our senses and reconstruct it to create our unique perspective.

However, our minds are not passive observers, they have over 200 biases that act as shortcuts to process information efficiently.

This means that the reality we perceive is not an objective, absolute truth, it’s a subjective story constructed by our minds.

Returning to the center, the “Eye of the Storm,” allows us to perceive a clearer and more accurate reality beyond the mind’s biases.

One of the most significant benefits of discovering your authentic self is the capacity to make decisions from the “Eye of the Storm.”

This inner place of stillness, love, and abundance is where we naturally make our best choices.

By accessing this state before making important decisions, we ensure that our actions align with our true selves, leading to outcomes that resonate deeply with our core values and desires.

An important aspect of authenticity is recognizing that your mindset is not the only one.

Different individuals may have contrasting mindsets, leading to alternative viewpoints and perceptions of the world.

This understanding encourages empathy and acceptance of varying perspectives without devaluing your own.

How to Train Your Mindset to Be a Bridge Between Your Center and The World?

1. Let your mind flow to your center.

The mind is the only thing over which we have complete control, yet it often feels like the source of our greatest challenges.

Training the mind is essential to reconnect with our authentic selves and perceive reality more accurately.

You are in control of your mind just like you are in control of water.

Most people try to control the mind as if they were controling a solid object.

They try to bring their thoughts somewhere like bringing a solid object, trying to catch water, or clean water from every particle of dirt.

Clean water… isn’t that funny.

Water IS what cleans.

All you need to do is let water flow.

Just as we control the destination of water by constructing channels or containers to carry it there, we control the mind by setting intentions and allowing thoughts to flow toward our desired destinations.

Not by forcefully bringing them there, but by letting them flow.

You can control everything around the water, but not the water.

Meditation is an effective exercise for developing this control.

Approaching it like a daily exercise, even if just for a few seconds, can significantly reinforce an authentic mindset.

2. Use The Narrative framework.

Another effective approach is to structure your day like a compelling narrative, complete with a captivating beginning, a fulfilling middle, and a satisfying end.

Start your day with a moment of meditation, physical activity, or immersive reading, activities that harmonize your inner self and equip you to contribute to the greater good.

Question to ask yourself in the morning: How can I serve the greatest good today?

Come back to your center.

Start your day from your center.

As the day progresses, make it a practice to pause, taking a few deliberate, deep breaths, and reflect on your current focus.

Ensure that you realign yourself with your center, your core values and adjust your concentration to better serve the collective good.

Questions to ask yourself in the middle of the day: Where is my focus now? Is it aligned with my center?

As the day draws to a close, conclude by writing a gratitude list, think of things you are thankful for.

You can also document your achievements in a ‘TADA’ list, those accomplishments that you reached that weren’t even on your initial to do list.

Remind yourself of your passions and how you define the greater good, setting intentions for the following day’s adventure.

3. Practice for at least 22 days.

To instill this as a lasting habit, dedicate a conscious effort to practice it for a minimum of 22 to 60 days.

This duration is typically required to establish a behavior as a habit, one that will consistently reinforce your newfound mindset.

This will construct a mindset that acts as a bridge between your authentic self and your center to the outside world.

In conclusion, the journey to becoming your most authentic self involves peeling away the layers of masks, embracing the power of “I AM,” and finding the peace within the “Eye of the Storm.”

Morning rituals, decision making, mindset development, and mindful perception all contribute to this transformative process.

But there was a time when she was lost and confused. She just lost her mom, her father remarried and moved to Florida. She did not have any direction in her life. First of all, how are you and your family doing after these Pandemic times?

We are doing well and adapting to a changed world.

How did the coronavirus pandemic affect your clients? Did it affect you at all?

It could have been devastating, however, I got the “Message” to go South to our Thailand beachside home, with my husband, where we would be safe.

The next “Message” was to redesign our “In person” training to be effective virtual training.

This was followed by a clear directive to embrace Zoom and make it our online portal of choice.

From March 26th to June 2nd, 2020 we pivoted and redirected our energy, business model, and marketing initiatives to those who wanted the best Coach Training in the world… accessible virtually to everyone.

What are the biggest lessons that you learned in this pandemic?

Stay safe, be mindful, pay attention, and take nothing for granted.

The Origin:

Tell us about you, your career, how you started with your coaching career?

After my mother died, my father became remarried, sold our family home, and moved to Florida.

I had no idea which way to turn.

Lacking an anchor, I felt, alone and without direction.

I thought it might be time to sort out my options.

I had been really fortunate with jobs and friends supporting me, and I hoped that maybe my friends could shed some light on what I should be doing with my life.

I asked various friends what they thought I should do for a career, and the advice I received was all over the map.

The suggestions ranged from medicine to real estate, to law, to a health practitioner, to selling vitamin supplements!

The advice they offered exacerbated my current dilemma.

Their good ideas about my future didn’t spark any motivation to take subsequent steps.

I had no one left to guide me.

I felt lost.

I needed to find my bearings and discover my purpose in life.

I made lists, meditated, prayed, and asked for guidance.

I actually said to God, “I want a message! I am ready to know why I am here (on Earth), and I want to fulfill my life’s purpose!”

Since I asked with deep desire and powerful intention I started to receive “Messages.”

I received a message.

The message said, “Your work is teaching people to love themselves… not in taking responsibility for their circumstances.”

That same day, I resigned from my position and set out to understand what that message meant.

I made lists, I designed models, I meditated, and I prayed for a message that would clear up my confusion, doubt, and uncertainty and would provide clear direction for my life.

Magically, out of the blue, I started to receive messages.

The first message was, “You are a catalyst for discovery!”

That was a novel moment.

I recall thinking “Catalyst” is not a word I normally used.

The dictionary read, “Stimulus for change.”

I mused about this “Message” since it sounded like me, but I wasn’t sure of the application to my current life.

Within two weeks, the second message came to me, “You are to work in growth and development!”

I understood that and felt more comfortable with the second message since it made sense to me, even though I didn’t know the exact application.

I sat with these two messages imagining various ways I could be a catalyst for growth and development.

Ten days later the third message arrived, “You have a gift for working with people!”

I strung the three messages together and came up with, “I am a catalyst who works with people in their growth and development!”

Then I was disappointed.

I didn’t know what to do with this strange bundled message.

I kept saying it over and over to myself wondering what to do with it.

I thought, do I put it on my business card?

Do I make it into my elevator pitch, “I am a catalyst who works with people in their growth and development!”

That sounded really awkward.

I was becoming more irritated.

I had asked for a message, received three of them, strung them together and it seemed like a riddle, totally useless.

I was uncomfortable for days and then something bizarre happened.

I received an out of the blue phone call from my friend, Lloyd, who asked if I could help him with his company.

I explained that I was in search of my life’s purpose and I thanked him for thinking of me, and the answer was, “No.”

A week passed and Lloyd called again, explained his business to me in more detail, and he asked again if I would help him sort things out.

I insisted, again that even though I was sincerely complimented by his outreach to me, I had no experience with business.

I stated again that I was busy searching for my life’s purpose and I suggested that he find an experienced business consultant.

I thought that this discussion was effectively over.

After several days, Lloyd called for the third time and said, “I am really serious about you helping me with my business.”

I replied, “I have no background, no experience, and no knowledge of business, especially yours. In fact, I really know nothing at all.”

His response floored me.

He said, “That could really be helpful!”

I replied, “I have been totally honest with you, clear about my reservations and limitations, so if you still want to hire me knowing all of that, then I accept!”

He was my first coaching client in San Francisco in 1974.

What was your biggest obstacle that you had to overcome in your life that made you who you are today?

There were many.

There is an entire system that I have developed.

I have been training coaches to do what I do since 1974, and it works.

They are like snowflakes and I regard every one of them as the unique and precious opportunity that I and honored to coach and support.

It also influences your relationships and interactions with others.

While your mood might not be triggered by a specific event or experience, it can be impacted by multiple factors, including social interactions, fatigue, and hormones.

Stress, general health, and hunger can also affect one’s mood.

Can Adderall Cause Anxiety Issues? You Might Not Like The Answer…

Adderall is a stimulant of the central nervous system often prescribed for the treatment of narcolepsy or attention deficit hyperactivity, commonly referred to as ADHD.

Adderall is a sympathomimetic drug, which means it enhances the activation of the sympathetic nervous system as well as the fight or flight response.

Approximately one in ten kids in the United States suffer from ADHD, with about 3 percent of this group having taken Adderall the previous year.

Along with these figures, there has been a correlation between anxiety and Adderall, hence the question of whether Adderall causes anxiety.

Does Adderall Cause Anxiety?

The brain and neurotransmitter regions that Adderall acts on for attention deficit hyperactivity (ADHD) treatment are similar to those active when an individual experiences anxiety.

Amphetamines in Adderall can instigate activities in the amygdala region of the brain.

This region is often referred to as the brain’s fear center, which means that it sends signals to other parts of your body when it senses danger.

Therefore, when Adderall prompts activity in the amygdala, your brain reacts as though there’s danger, sending signals to the rest of the body which engages in a fight or flight mode.

The outcome of this is symptoms of anxiety which may include anxiousness or nervousness, sweating, difficulty concentrating, hyperventilation or rapid breathing, and tense muscles.

How to Manage Anxiety while Taking Adderall

Despite the above outcome, the good news is that you can manage your anxiety symptoms while still taking Adderall.

One of the strategies you can employ to manage and alleviate anxiety symptoms is communication.

Openly discuss your concerns with your healthcare provider.

They can adjust your dosage, explore alternative treatments, or offer guidance on managing anxiety while on Adderall.

Your healthcare professional may prescribe an anti anxiety medication as you continue taking Adderall.

Alternatively, they may recommend other treatment options that don’t involve medication such as referring you to a clinical psychologist for therapy treatment.

Another approach to managing anxiety is to eat a healthy diet.

According to scientific studies, the diet you consume greatly affects your mental health as well as well being.

More specifically, diet can affect your gut.

The gut is your second brain and, some even argue it might be very well called your first one.

The gut contains different types of bacteria making up the microbiome.

Although there are good bacteria in the gut, bad ones also exist in large quantities.

The bad bacteria thrive in unhealthy foods, which means the consumption of a poor diet, such as sugar, processed vegetables, and sweeteners, can provide a suitable environment for the bad bacteria to thrive.

Therefore, if you’re struggling with anxiety issues, you need to be careful of what you consume.

Lastly, if anxiety persists or worsens, your healthcare provider may explore switching to a different ADHD medication or adjusting your treatment plan.

Speak to your doctor to see what alternative options are available for you.

Open and transparent communication with healthcare providers is key to managing anxiety while benefiting from the therapeutic effects of Adderall.

Emotions are the driving force behind our actions, the labels we place on our sensations, and the messengers of our inner world.

Each emotion has a distinct purpose, urging us to move in specific ways.

From the adrenaline rush of fear to the warmth of love, emotions carry underlying messages and narratives that shape our responses to life’s challenges.

Understanding these messages is crucial for making conscious choices and gaining control over our decisions.

There are 7 steps to learn the language of emotions and become emotionally fluent, so to say…

These are:

  1. Understand what is an emotion.
  2. Understand how your emotional self speaks.
  3. Become aware of the sensations that you feel.
  4. Make space.
  5. Name the emotion.
  6. Research similar emotions.
  7. Keep learning and become fluent.

What are Emotions?

Emotions form a vast spectrum, and their definitions can vary from person to person.

Dan Newby introduces three criteria for understanding emotions: narrative, impulse, and purpose.

While cultural nuances may affect actions, reactions, behaviors, and meaning, the fundamental narratives behind emotions remain universal.

To effectively work with emotions, it is essential to reach a consensus on what each emotion signifies individually.

Much like language, discrepancies in emotional labels can lead to misunderstandings and conflicts.

Harmonizing our emotional vocabulary allows for more meaningful and constructive communication.

Emotions are Like Words. Emotional Literacy is Learning to Communicate with Yourself.

We often encounter sensations and experiences for which we lack appropriate labels.

Consider the cozy sensation of a loved one sleeping on your shoulder during a journey or the heartwarming sight of elderly couples holding hands as they walk.

These sensations may elude conventional emotional categorization.

Expanding our emotional vocabulary equips us with the tools to decipher the nuances of our emotional landscape.

Just as a broad vocabulary enhances communication, recognizing a wide range of emotions offers clarity in understanding our emotional selves.

By not having good emotional literacy we often mistake one emotional experience for another, and we are left confused.

Let’s take “Fear” as an example.

Real Fear is a primal emotion that in the modern world is very rare. And widely misunderstood.

That’s why I like to call most of the fear we experience on a day to day life within the modern society, “Fake Fear”.

There is real fear and fake fear.

Real fear emerges in life threatening situations, triggering survival instincts to keep us safe from imminent danger, such as a bear attack.

Conversely, fake fear arises from ego based concerns, often hindering personal growth.

It prevents us from fully experiencing life and can manifest in scenarios like public speaking.

Differentiating between these two types of fear allows us to respond appropriately and live more authentically.

But just because we use the same label of “Fear” to both of these vastly different emotional experiences, we end up stuck or “running away” from situations that might help us grow whenever “Fake Fear” shows up.

We Don’t Experience Just One Emotion.

In our complex emotional landscape, it is common to experience mixed emotions simultaneously.

While we may be aware of the predominant emotion, our emotional selves often convey messages through multiple sensations.

Just like we don’t communicate with only one word sentences, our emotional self is not communicating with only one emotion.

Each emotion carries a message, just like each word in a sentence.

The real message of the emotional experience is translated only when we translate each emotion that we feel in a particular scenario.

Just like words, sometimes these emotions might look contradictory on first glance, but they provide a broader perspective on our experiences.

Just as combining words like “pretty” and “bad” creates meaning, experiencing for example pride and envy simultaneously, though conflicting, conveys a meaningful message.

But we can decode this message only if we understand what pride and envy are really trying to tell us.

Embracing the complexity of mixed emotions allows for a deeper understanding of our emotional world.

Should Emotional Literacy Be Taught in School?

Emotional literacy should find its place in the educational system.

Incorporating emotional education into the curriculum benefits students by enhancing their overall well being and personal development.

By equipping the younger generation with emotional tools and knowledge, we pave the way for a more emotionally intelligent society.

Emotions are an integral part of the human experience, and it is essential to provide students with the skills to navigate their emotional landscapes effectively.

Should We Listen to Reason or Our Emotions?

There is often a misconception that focusing on emotions can lead to bias or procrastination, especially in scientific contexts.

However, the key lies in finding a balance between logic and emotion.

Logic presents one facet of the truth, while emotions reveal another.

The choice between the two depends on the purpose and intent of our actions.

Both logic and emotion have valuable contributions to make, and integrating them harmoniously can lead to more holistic decision making.

Why Emotional Literacy is so Powerful?

One of the most empowering aspects of emotional literacy is the ability to choose our emotions consciously.

While some emotions may be more impactful and enduring than others, we have the power to influence the emotional landscape.

Acknowledging our emotions and actively selecting them allows for a healthier emotional state.

By becoming aware of the emotions that serve us best in various situations, we gain greater control over our emotional experiences.

What is The Purpose of Sadness?

Sadness, often viewed as an undesirable emotion, serves a crucial purpose in our emotional repertoire.

It signals the loss of something significant and encourages us to reflect on what truly matters.

Instead of avoiding or suppressing sadness, embracing it can lead to personal growth and a deeper understanding of our values.

Sadness prompts us to appreciate what we still have and directs our attention toward areas of genuine importance.

The Harm of Suppressing Your Emotions.

Many individuals attempt to suppress or escape unpleasant emotions due to the discomfort they bring.

However, these emotions carry valuable messages that can guide us toward necessary actions.

By acknowledging and understanding these sensations, we can respond effectively to address their underlying causes.

Avoiding unpleasant emotions merely prolongs their impact and hinders personal growth.

Each emotion you suppress is being stored within your subconscious mind.

Your subconscious mind is responsible for more than 95% of your choices and perspectives in life.

So, by suppressing your emotion you are not really escapiing from the emotion, it’s just momentary escape, you are storing that emotion within your subconscious mind and coloring your whole reality with it.

Then your subconscious mind will orchestrate events by controling the 95% of your unconscious choices that will make you relive the same emotion.

The only way to get rid of an emotion is to embrace it, feel it, and let it go.

How to Become Emotionally Fluent?
