Science Reveals The 5 Ways The Emotion Of Happiness Lengthens Your Life

0

Wise people say that health is the greatest blessing anyone can ever enjoy.

Even if you’re wealthy, famous and worshiped, life may appear to be a curse if you have poor health. Hence, countless studies are being done on how to improve one’s health.

While others focus on the right nutrition and the avoidance of unhealthy habits, some researchers look into how emotions affect our health, especially happiness.

After countless researches and experiments, the collected information suggests that the emotion of happiness has a direct link to better health.

Here are the 5 most significant ways how the emotion of happiness improves health and life according to what most researches say.

The 5 Ways Happiness Lengthens Your Life According To Science:science-reveals-ways-happiness-lengthens-life

1. Happiness protects the heart.

In 2010, researchers conducted a study on how positive affect predicts cardiovascular health. Nearly 2,000 Canadians, were included in the health survey conducted in 1995.

Participants talk about their anger and stress at work. Observations were rated on a 5-point scale depending on the extent of positive affectivity.

After 10 years of follow-up, the researchers found that the risk of coronary heart disease was less likely to occur in happy people; and that a one-point increase in positive emotion is equivalent to a 22 percent of reduced heart disease risk.

2. Happiness enhances the immune system.

Happiness is linked to a greater immune system and a reduced risk of cardiovascular disease. Happy people are reported to have greater marriage and job satisfaction.

To prove that typically positive people are less likely to develop a disease, an experiment in 2003 was conducted where 350 adults volunteered to get exposed to the common cold.

Researchers called them for an assessment of positive emotions such as happy, pleased, and relaxed, before exposure. After being quarantined for 5 days, the participants with the most positive emotions hardly developed a cold.

Another study was done in 2006 where 81 graduate students were given the hepatitis B vaccine. After the first two doses, participants were assessed on the same positive emotions.

The students with the most positive emotions displayed a high antibody response to the vaccine, showing a robust immune system. Happiness extends its work on a cellular level.

3. Happiness combats cortisol and stress.

Happiness protects the brain from stress by releasing the protein Brain-Derived Neurotrophic Factor (BDNF) that protects and repairs the memory neurons while acting as a reset switch.

This is what makes it possible for us to still be happy and at ease despite going through stressful moments.

In 2009, researchers intentionally stressed out students to monitor how they respond to such situations. Led to a soundproof chamber, the students answered questions whether they generally felt 10 emotions such as enthusiasm or pride.

To make it harder, they were asked difficult statistics questions while being videotaped and told their professor was to evaluate their response.

The process involved measuring their heart through electrocardiogram (EKG) machine and blood pressure monitor. The happiest students recovered more quickly from the wake of the stress.

4. Happiness enhances optimism.

Neuroscientists discovered that cheerful and optimistic people have higher activity occurring in their left prefrontal cortex (PFC). This side of the brain is associated with cognitive behavior, self-expression, decision-making and the person’s will to live.

A study in 2005 found that women with more positive emotions, who are suffering from arthritis and chronic pain, didn’t experience an increase in the amount of pain.

5. Happiness lengthens lives.

Happiness certainly plays an important role in the ultimate health indicator: longevity.

A study to prove the link between happiness and longevity was conducted in the life expectancy of Catholic nuns. These nuns wrote an autobiographical essay upon their entrance to the convent life in their early 20’s.

Researchers went through these writing samples to find positive emotions like contentment, gratitude, and love. The happiest nuns lived 7 to 10 years longer compared to those who are less happy.

Another study conducted in 2011 reported that among 4,000 English participants, the happier ones were 35 percent less likely to die over the course of 5 years compared to the unhappy ones.

Scientists Reveal The One Simple Activity You Can Do Daily To Prevent Your Brain From Aging

0

A decline in mental health naturally occurs as we age, especially in the onset of conditions like Alzheimer’s disease.

However, the Frontiers in Human Neuroscience published a study showing a reversed sign of aging in the brain of older people who routinely engage in physical exercises.

However, one activity especially caught the researchers’ attention!

Dancing has been found to have the most effect. Dr. Kathrin Rehfeld, the lead author of the study based at the German Center for Neurodegenerative Diseases, Magdeburg, Germany, explains:

“Exercise has the beneficial effect of slowing down or even counteracting age-related decline in mental and physical capacity. In this study, we show that two different types of physical exercise (dancing and endurance training) both increase the area of the brain that declines with age. In comparison, it was only dancing that lead to noticeable behavioral changes in terms of improved balance.”

Dancing leads to noticeable behavioral changes!activity-you-can-do-daily-to-prevent-brain-from-aging

The subjects of the study were elderly volunteers with an average age of 68. The participants were divided into two groups.

One group was assigned an 18 month weekly course of learning dance routines while the other one was assigned with endurance and flexibility training.

Both groups displayed an increase in the hippocampus region of the brain, which is prone to age related decline and the effects of Alzheimer’s disease. Hippocampus is also associated with memory, learning, and keeping one’s balance.

To know if one type of exercise is better than the other, each group were provided different instructions.

Repetitive exercises like cycling or Nordic walking was given to the traditional fitness training program participants while the dance group participants were challenged with something new each week.

The dance group challenges include changing dance routines of different genres like jazz, square, Latin American, and line dance.

Every second week, steps, arm patterns, formations, speed, and rhythms were changed to aid in the constant learning process of the participants.

Recalling the routines under pressure of time and without clues from the instructor were their greatest challenge.

The difference in balance displayed by the participants in the dancing group was being attributed to the challenges they faced from time to time as dancing is perceived to be a powerful tool in setting new challenges for the body and mind.

Dr. Rehfeld concluded:

“I believe that everybody would like to live an independent and healthy life, for as long as possible. Physical activity is one of the lifestyle factors that can contribute to this, counteracting several risk factors and slowing down age-related decline. I think dancing is a powerful tool to set new challenges for body and mind, especially in older age.”

With this being said, why wait to reach old age to start dancing when we can do it right now?

Start having your own dance routine and prevent your brain from aging!

If You Can Choose Anything, What’s The One Thing You Should Start Doing This March To Be Healthier…

Health is maintained by a way of living.

There are a lot of products that claim you will be healthier if you just start using them. There is a lot of misinformation and propaganda about health.

However, in the end we all know that the natural way is always the best when it comes to maintaining your health and prevention. We are a part of nature and if we establish a harmonious relationship with it we’ll without a doubt live a healthy life.

Because there is a lot of information out there that can overwhelm you, just start with one thing per month. And if you keep doing this you will slowly but surely update your lifestyle to be much healthier. So for this month here is what you should do!

Get up early and exercise!one-thing-you-should-start-doing-this-march-to-be-healthier

Our bodies were created and developed to wake up early. Our organs have levels when their energy peaks and its different hour for each of them. This depends on where the Sun is on the sky and that’s how their system of energy consumption was developed.

When you wake up early you are using each of your organs as they were meant to be used and you do not deplete them from energy. You are catching the wave of energy and you are surfing it.

Just by getting up early you are naturally reseting your internal clock for hunger, sleep, and work in a way that will organize your daily needs to keep your organs healthy.

When you introduce a morning exercise in a combination with waking up early you are boosting the blood flow through your whole body while setting a natural rhythm for the rest of your day.

This will keep you energized, fit, focused and healthy. It will improve your mood and give you a sense of ease and relaxation.

The best part is you’ll exercise, and that’s something you stress over, and you’ll do that while everyone else is still asleep. The rest of the day you’ll feel as a winner and have one worry less.

And it doesn’t have to be a big exercise. Just do some jumping jacks, push ups or go for a run. It doesn’t have to be time consuming what matters is to sweat a little and boost that blood flow. You can create a morning exercise in a way that’s best for your wants.

5 Effortless Steps To Make Mindfulness Your Default State Of Being

0

Mindfulness is starting to become a common theme these days, especially in dealing with stress. Popularized in the East by religious and spiritual institutions, mindfulness is carving its path in the West and being slowly acknowledged by science due to its enormous health benefits.

But mindfulness has been around for thousands of years. To this day, programs are established around mindfulness to reduce stress and regain life balance.

With regards to this, questions may arise as to how to start mindfulness practice or do we really need to go through a two or three week retreat just to become mindful. These questions could be answered by understanding what mindfulness really means.

Mindfulness is defined as the mental state that is achieved when you bring your awareness in the present moment while totally acknowledging your thoughts, feelings, and bodily sensations.

By being mindful, you notice how your thoughts sway from past to future. And the goal is to bring these thoughts in the present moment without judgment. And you need to stay present as much as you can. The ultimate goal is to always be present.

Achieving this goal takes lots and lots of practice since we are living in a fast paced society. However, there are a couple of easy habits and steps you can do every day that will give you a shortcut to mindfulness. And you won’t even feel it as a big effort.

In fact, by doing these steps you will make mindfulness a habit and a default state of being without even noticing how you achieved that.

5 Easy Steps To Make Mindfulness Your Default State:steps-to-make-mindfulness-your-default-state

1. Start being mindful in your pleasant moments.

While mindfulness is a great tool in combating stress, starting in stressful situations is rather difficult. Don’t practice mindfulness to fight against stress; practice mindfulness to enhance your happy moments.

Say, you’re having your morning coffee or cuddling with your loved one at the end of the day. These are great moments to be truly and fully present.

Focusing on the present moment is much easier when your happy hormones are at its peak. You’ll be much better prepared to face the difficult stuff as soon as they arise.

2. Pick one easy routine where you can be mindful.

You surely have many routines all throughout the day. Brushing your teeth, walking the dog, picking up your kids from school, driving or commuting to work, or reading your favorite book are just some of them.

Instead of thinking all the things needed to get done throughout the day, try to bring your focus in what you’re doing and be there.

Inevitably, your mind may wander from time to time, but you can gently bring your focus back once it does.

3. Observe your breath.

Though breathing is a necessity, we often forget all about it while actively doing it.

In mindfulness practice, breathing is key in bringing your awareness to the present moment.

Simply take a long deep breath and notice the air that comes inside your body while expanding your abdomen and contracting it as you breath out.

Doing this 3 to 4 times calms your mind and helps your body to relax.

4. Feel your physicality.

Another simple way to be mindful is to anchor yourself in your body. Clench your hand into tight fists then release. Do it again. And again. And again.

Transfer your attention to your feet. Clench the muscles in your feet then release. Do it again for several times.

This physical anchor of self awareness helps you in staying present.

5. Notice your surroundings.

Whether you’re in your office or at home, take notice of your physical surroundings. Notice the smell of the place. Feel the chair you’re sitting on.

Put your palms on the table and notice how hard the surface is. Look at the walls. Notice its color, whether it’s painted light or dark.

Or if you’re outside, look at the color of the sky. Look at the plants and feel their energy.

If you put yourself in the present moment, things start to have importance and be alive. This is what mindfulness is all about.

When things are difficult as they sometimes will, stay in the present and feel your emotions. Staying in the present makes you face every situation more effectively with fewer frustrations and lesser pains than before.

And if you want to deepen your mindfulness practice, you can learn from books or you can seek out help from meditation teachers.

3 Ways How To Overcome Your Fearful Mind And Make A Friend Out Of Fear

0

Fear is not a monster, as most people are used to see it. It’s an evolutionary defense program that ensures your and your species survival. If anything, fear is your bestest friend because it wants nothing else but you to be completely safe!

However, its intensity and persistence can overshadow the other programs we have and make us design our lifestyle based solely by fear’s blueprints.

The more we feed our mind with it, the more it takes control over our lives. But what fear says is not a fact. It’s just suggesting to us where might be potential danger, it’s not sharing highly possible scenarios, nor even slightly possible scenarios in most cases.

Fear is simply generating patterns from where we are to a possible dangerous scenario using our creativity. If we let it control our lives it will build walls and imprison us more and more until it sucks out all the things that make us feel alive and all the light we have in our life.

The ironical thing is that by trying to keep us away from danger in such extreme levels, fear is putting us in the most dangerous prison, a limited mind where the reason for living is slowly sucked out.

It’s this fear that takes away the lives of many people because fear blinds them into believing that life is without meaning.

Fear is advantageous because it sends us signals that something might be dangerous and we should be aware. However, fear is destructive when you allow it to cripple you from living a joyful life. You cannot be completely rid of danger. You can be smart about danger and that’s how fear can serve you.

Making a friend out of fear and conquering it is what gives life into your life.

3 Ways To Overcome Your Fear:How To Overcome Your Fearful Mind

1. See fear as it is.

There may be some incident in the past where your fear has been rooted. For example, you might have been bitten by a dog when you were a child and since then you were afraid of dogs.

But you know what the funny thing is? When you’re afraid of a dog, the dog senses your fear.

Let’s say, you’re walking with someone who is not afraid of dogs. Suddenly a dog appears and runs after the both of you. But it goes not to your friend but to you.

It’s all because of the workings of fear. Your fear is so strong the dog senses its vibration and smells the endorphins your body produces. Those stimuli tell the dog that it can dominate you and the natural way is kicking in giving it the urge to run after you.

The same is true with the universe, which is impartial and not personal. The universe gives you the things for which you vibrate highly at.

Things always look frightening because that’s how you perceived them. But take a look at all your worries in the past. Did all of them happen? Certainly, they didn’t.

Don’t buy into fear. It’s not worth your life.

See fear as it is, a program that generates possible dangers. Some of them are reasonable, most of them are not. Acknowledge what it says, do not take everything it says to seriously and evaluate your actions based on what you love.

Use fear’s suggestions as signal of where you should be more cautious or where you should find a better way, but do not use it to dictate your direction.

When you see fear as it is, an evolutionary program, it stops being the monster most people make out of it.

2. Tune in to love.

“Perfect love casts out fear”. You may have heard this phrase before and it’s a useful tool in dealing with fear.

When you tune into love, it changes your aura. Love can be your shield when fear tries to scare you.

But most importantly, love tells you what’s really important for you and that thing overshadows fear.

In the face of fear, remember your loved ones and the things or memories that truly made you happy. Remember how you are loved.

It’s even better when you trust in the higher power and know that the love of the Universe or your Source is protecting you.

3. Believe in your own power.

Believe that you’re not a helpless human being. You’re powerful because that is what you are. And no matter what fear says, it’s always up to you to make the decision.

That’s what fear can not take away unless you give that power over to it.

Because of free will, your power waits for you to acknowledge and accept it before it presents itself to you.

It takes serious ownership of your decisions to become self empowered. You need to have lots of awareness and take responsibility for your actions before you’re able to step into your power.

You have the power to transform and transmute any situation when you wish to. And you can subdue fear if you wish to. And the easiest way to subdue fear is to face it head on. Evaluate what it says, look it in the eyes and let it know you are the boss.

As Jim Morrison bluntly puts it:

“Expose yourself to your deepest fear; after that, fear has no power, and the fear of freedom shrinks and vanishes. You are free.”

3 Inner ‘Monsters’ Each Lightworker Has To Face To Transform Into An Ultimate Lightbringer

0

“Ultimate Lightbringer is a lightworker who shines with their full potential”

Lightworkers, once they are awakened, devote most of their lives in bringing light into this world. The light they bring shines through their hearts. With just their presence and inherent spiritual abilities they alchemize the darkness of the world into true light.

Despite their higher calling, lightworkers are not people who isolate themselves from the society and live in a cave. We can see them around as chefs, writers, singers, producers, cleaners, mothers or mediums. They can be famous gurus or even local bartenders that have a passion for dancing.

Whether big or small, their contribution helps in raising the vibration of our planet. They do not do it through some special techniques or activistic global movements, but by just being themselves and letting their vibration transform everyone who they interact with.

They subconsciously know that they are strategically placed like lighthouses in different parts of the world to feed people with positive vibes.

Every time they’re faced with difficulties, they often bounce back with more strength and more positive outlook. They fully know that obstacles are just tools that trigger their true light to come out and shine brighter into the world where it’s needed the most.

But lightworkers are humans too who have their own vulnerabilities and inner flaws. These inner ‘monsters’ are essential in helping them become the highest version of themselves that shines with the brightest true light. These challenges are the inner blocks that each lightworkers has to face and overcome in order to transform into their ultimate selves.

3 Inner ‘Monsters’ Each Lightworker Has To Face To Become Ultimate Lightbringer:3 Inner 'Monsters' Each Lightworker Has To Face

1. Their Own Fire

“The most powerful weapon on earth is the human soul on fire.” ― Ferdinand Foch

The lightworkers’ journey is not the easiest of all. On the contrary, it’s a journey fettered with loss, sadness, illness, depression, anxiety, fear, and constant struggle.

This may seem cruel, but it’s the only way for lightworkers to let go of the layers of themselves that don’t serve them.

In all subtlety, they’re being nudged to look within until they understand that nothing matters except who they really are.

The moment they remember who they truly are is the moment their light starts to shine.

In short, lightworkers are flame carriers who need to find the light of their flames and the essence from where it comes from. It’s the flame carrier’s duty to illuminate the world.

Only that in coming to the physical world and modern society, lightworkers have difficulty managing their flame within being looked at as if there is something wrong with them.

Most of the time people do not understand them and the intensity of their emotions and this can result in the dimming or extinguishment of their light, and their fire becoming destructive anger.

The first ‘monster’ they have to face is their own fire. They need to embrace it and accept it as something positive and constructive. They need to realize it’s their power not their weakness. They need to look beyond it and see the true light it has the potential to illuminate the world with.

2. Their Shadows

“Never fear shadows. They simply mean that there is a light shinning somewhere nearby.” ― Renkel Ruth E

Lightworkers are natural healers. However, they need to heal themselves first before they can go out into the world and teach people how to heal, or heal them with their presence.

When a lightworker’s inward journey of looking for their true essence begins, it signals the start of an arduous adventure of facing their own shadows and inner demons.

They need to go through this painful process of self discovery until they’re able to reignite their flame once again through their real essence.

The calling may be unique for each one, but all lightworkers follow the same life theme of being lost once in their lives and finding themselves again.

That’s how they can face the shadows within their psyche that hold the orbs of their essence.

The second ‘monster’ they have to face are these shadows that are scattered parts of themselves they turned their back on because they assumed were unacceptable for society. But only by acknowledging these parts, accepting them, embracing them and giving them love, they can become whole and shine with their true light.

3. Their Inner Prison

“To be yourself in a world that is constantly trying to make you something else is the greatest accomplishment.” ― Ralph Waldo Emerson

At this stage, some lightworkers may have already been doing their soul’s purpose. But, others may still be unable to figure out what their purpose exactly is.

These are the people who don’t yet know how to fully utilize their true light and need the inspiration from fellow lightworkers to remember their own.

There are many things that might hold someone’s purpose hidden. The environment may be holding these lightworkers back. Old habits, negative friends, limiting beliefs and assumptions about what they should do can be the building blocks of their prison cell.

Once they break free from what holds them back, they can burst into flames they’re not even aware they have.

The third ‘monster’ they have to face is exactly this inner prison they have built for themselves by living in a fabricated society ruled by fear. Once they realize what their chains are that hold their true purpose locked, they need to break them and start living their purpose. Even the smallest step towards their purpose is still a big step in the right direction.

We need these awakened souls to bring their healing energies in our sick world. We need their words, their empathy, and their healing hand. We need these lightworkers.

We need you!

4 Essential Immaterial Tools You Already Have To Vibrate Higher In Your Everyday Life

0

Some say life is great. Some say life is unfair. Others say life is how we make it. The truth is, life just is.

It becomes either colorful or bland depending on the way we see it. And the way we see life is mostly dependent on the emotions that affect our perceptions or the way it shakes our souls.

The ebbs and flows of emotions are overwhelming and may even be unbearable at times. Yet, all along, we have a spiritual toolkit that contains the essential tools needed in navigating our day to day existence.

These tools have been with us since the beginning. And if you find yourself in an overwhelming or confusing situation, that’s the best time to spread open your spiritual toolkit and start to utilize the dormant powers within you.

4 Essential Immaterial Tools You Already Have To Vibrate Higher:essential-immaterial-tools-to-vibrate-higher

1. Surrender

In military terms, surrender is the relinquishment of control over territory, combatants, fortifications or armament to another power. Surrender may also be the result of defeat in battle.

In spiritual life, however, surrender means offering yourself to God or Higher Source. It’s not a sign of defeat, rather it’s the first step of winning because you’re offering yourself in alliance to a power higher than you are.

It means letting go of what doesn’t serve you that you may embody your higher self.

Hence, when you’re too overwhelmed by fear, anxiety, loneliness, or any other destructive emotions, start to surrender them. Instead of resisting these emotions, embrace them and let them go.

You don’t have to shut down these emotions, you just have to accept their presence, acknowledge them and even feel them but without attachment.

Surrendering is becoming a witness or an observer. You may explore the “whys” or may even tell yourself that you’ve already processed these issues way back.

Perhaps there are still wounds beneath. Honor those wounds, yet continue to be a detached observer.

Detachment is key in surrendering the undesired emotions that are coming up from time to time.

2. Ask

Asking for help is a right you have been born with. Since we come into this world bringing nothing, we’re entitled to ask for help for our survival.

When you feel you’re at your edge or simply lack resources, ask from your higher self or the Universe because you can’t receive help if you don’t ask. This is how free will works.

Most often, when we don’t receive what we ask for, it’s not that the Universe isn’t willing to provide for us; it’s just that there are unconscious blocks that prevent us from asking properly.

It might be our conditioning, feelings of unworthiness, pride, or whatever it is that urge us to stay “okay” even when we’re not. Asking for help is what prompts the universe to take action.

But, when you ask, ask in an affirmative way and with the right intention. For example, if  overwhelmed with strong emotions, ask the universe this way:

“Dear Universe, these feelings of [insert feelings, i.e. fear and insecurity], are overwhelming and too much for me to bear right now. Thank you for your help in shedding what no longer serves me, in releasing and renewing, and in mulching these negative emotions that are too heavy and too burdensome for me to process myself. Knowing that the Law of Free Will will not be broken, I affirmatively am setting my intention to receive help from you now. Thank you for your guidance.”

This is just an example. You can use your own words whichever feels comfortable. The important things are to ask in an affirmative way and in the present tense.

3. Trust

Once you have placed your order in the hands of the universe, trust. Give your full trust that you will receive what you are asking for.

Don’t fret or worry whether you’ll receive it or not, and when will it be given to you. Entertaining these questions is allowing lower vibrational emotions like doubts and fears to create blocks to receiving your request.

The best thing you can do is sit back and breathe. Trust that you’ve asked for the right thing and trust that the right thing will be given to you.

And in time, your fears or anxiety would turn into peaceful surrender and deeper connection with who you are.

4. Love

After you have surrendered, asked for help, and trust, you can now choose to love.

Choosing to do some acts of love and expressing gratitude are ways of increasing your vibration. The more you vibrate higher, the higher the chances that your requests be heard.

It may be hard to choose love when you’re still hurting or afraid or anxious, but you just have to move because doing nothing will keep you stuck in life. Besides, you’ve already asked for the universe to help you.

Now, it’s your time to help yourself out and choosing to love is returning to your true eternal nature. This is also a conscious way of realigning yourself with the higher frequency where the flow of love, harmony, bliss, happiness, abundance, and prosperity are readily available.

Choosing love isn’t complicated either. The work of love can be done by connecting with nature, giving focus on your breath, following your passion, or doing something you love. Spending time with a friend or with your pet is a great bonding moment too.

There are unlimited ways to express love. As long as you’re doing things the best of your ability and following your bliss, amazing things are likely to happen.

You will vibrate in your true unique energy signature and will find alignment in your day to day existence. No matter what the day brings you, know that you’re here not to become perfect but to experience.

Always remember to surrender, ask, trust, and love. When you practice these things every day, you will one day find yourself in perfect alignment with who you are despite the stresses brought about by the daily hustles and bustles of life.

7 Things You Need To Release To Transcend Your Ego

0

Termed as the “lower self”, an ego is a third dimensional tool that our human body needs for identity and protection. It’s not who we really are, rather an image we identify our self with.

Driven by fear, it wants to be in control, and even prevents us from loving ourselves more fully.

However, the ego plays a significant role in our healing and ascension. It kept on pushing us to unmask the layers of ourselves that lie beneath so that we may be able to vibrate higher and become whole again.

But the process isn’t easy because the ego will always try to trick us in any way possible for the fear of change. Once we reach this breaking point, we suddenly awaken to the truth that the answers we’re looking for can be found outside of ourselves.

In the process of awakening, the ego slowly loses its grip on us but we need to thank it for bringing us to a place we’ve been destined for. We will let it know that it’s no longer needed in exploring the higher aspects of our self.

When the ego knows its rightful place, it will step aside to allow our higher self to lead us. But dealing with the ego is not an easy task. It’s like uninstalling a software that we have been programmed with.

There are 7 things you need to release in order to let the ego step aside and transcend it so you can vibrate higher!

7 Ways You Can Transcend Your Ego:things-transcend-your-ego

1. Release yourself from getting offended.

Everything that others say or do is a projection of their own false self and their own reality. Stop being offended by their words or actions.

Though the subconscious mind tells one thing, the conscious mind says the other. And people tend to listen more to their conscious mind than to their subconscious self.

When you follow the golden rule that your subconscious or higher self is telling you, you will offend no one because you refrain from saying things that you know can hurt others.

2. Release yourself from the desire to win.

In this modern world, competition is the key to advancement. Or so they say!

Challenges may be a motivator to go forward, but when you do your best in order to win or beat the others, you can’t escape from this third dimensional reality.

In your journey towards the higher way of living, winning doesn’t mean a thing.

You are a multidimensional being and being stuck only in this third dimensional reality can be like a prison for you.

See the bigger picture and let go of competition. Realize that either we are all already winners, or no one really is. So just have fun.

3. Release yourself from the desire to be always right.

We all see things differently. What’s right for you may not be right for others who are seeing things from another perspective.

Proving to be right is not necessary. This doesn’t mean you have to stay passive.

It just means you put more focus on keeping your vibration up by walking away from lower vibrational situations. Besides, you always have the opportunity to stand up for your truth by example.

4. Release yourself from superiority thinking.

Because we all come from one Source, we are all created equal despite our unique strengths and weaknesses.

Others may be more enlightened while there are some who take different paths. Yet, all these paths converge to one in the end.

Our idea of superiority may be confused with the amount of knowledge or experience accumulated over time.

But then, the love that you get from the Creator is the same love that others also get because no one is either above or below the other.

5. Release yourself from the desire of wanting more.

Wanting for more and more material things is driven by the ego. Material things can’t fill the hole within you.

There’s nothing wrong with acquiring the things that you need as long as you’re not emotionally attached to them.

But if you spend more of your time chasing things that only bring clutter into your spiritual and physical surroundings, with intent to fill the hole inside you, you will lose the balance needed in expanding yourself.

The hole you are trying to fill cannot be filled. So start seeing it differently. Remember that a hole means there is something in the other side. And if it can’t be filled it means it’s infinite.

So instead of looking at it as a hole you can’t fill, look at it as a place your infinite potential comes from.

6. Release yourself from identifying with your achievements.

Your title does not have all the answers your soul is looking for. It will not convince you that you are enough to be who you want to be.

On the other hand, the ascension process doesn’t require a college degree, job title, social status, or award.

You are already enough and you don’t need anything nor anyone to give you permission to be yourself. So just start being yourself.

7. Release the need to earn a good reputation.

On your path to awakening and feeling happy, a good reputation is not needed. The opinions of others don’t even matter.

If you’re obsessed with how others see you, you’re likely to put up a false image of yourself which you will constantly bend depending on other people’s tastes and preferences. You’ll be unable to do what you really want to do if it’s not ok with other people’s tastes.

Being your true, authentic self is the only way to love yourself and love others as well. The moment you let yourself be yourself is the moment you will transcend your ego.

How to know if the ego is healthy?

While taming the ego is important, it must not be totally tossed aside. We need a certain amount of ego on a daily basis.

It’s the ego that tells us what hairstyle looks good on us. The ego helps us look our best when we go to a party and socialize.

Even great spiritual people need the ego to boost their self confidence needed to talk in front of thousands of people and actually touch their hearts and attention.

In short, we need the ego to keep our physical being functioning efficiently and effectively.

Part of knowing ourselves is the ability to acknowledge the lower and higher aspects of ourselves. The ego helps us to uncover the energies that need healing, it shows us what we are not.

Despite its reputation, the ego is an important tool in the awakening process and holistic integration. However, that’s what it is, a tool, it’s the real you.

The identity you have created for yourself is not the real you, it’s just one of the characters you have created to play. And when this character holds your true self back, then it’s time to transcend your ego and create a new version, or just improve and update the one you are playing.

As long as we’re able to forgive ourselves, love and accept ourselves without judgment, the ego will recognize our higher self and will allow it to take control so it can be improved.
