Redefining Wellness: Beyond Bubble Baths and Tea Cups

Wellness, self care, “me time”… Today wellness is depicted through images of bubble baths, herbal tea, self care routines, and moments of relaxation.

While these indulgences are delightful and contribute to our well being, true wellness is far more profound and multidimensional.

It’s not about your bubble bath holding a glass of wine, focusing on yourself after a long day of corporate stress and comparing with others on social media…

To truly embrace wellness, we need to delve deeper into its essence and understand its holistic nature.

The Origins of Wellness

Redefining-Wellness-Beyond-Bubble-Baths

The concept of wellness isn’t a new fad, it has deep historical roots.

Anceint Greeks

Ancient civilizations like the Greeks, Egyptians, and Chinese have long recognized the importance of holistic health.

For example, the Greek philosopher Hippocrates, often considered the father of medicine, championed the idea of balance and harmony within the body as crucial to health.

His famous quote, “Let food be thy medicine and medicine be thy food,” reflects his belief that a balanced diet and lifestyle were key to health.

Hippocrates and his followers advocated for a holistic approach, focusing on diet, exercise, and lifestyle rather than merely treating symptoms.

China

In China, wellness has been understood through the lens of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM), which dates back over 2,000 years.

Traditional Chinese Medicine emphasizes the balance of Qi (life energy) and the harmony of body, mind, and spirit.

Health, according to TCM, depends on the smooth flow of Qi and the balance between the body’s opposing forces, Yin and Yang.

India

India’s contribution to wellness is profound, especially through the practice of yoga, which has been practiced for over 5,000 years.

The ancient sage Patanjali codified the principles of yoga in the Yoga Sutras, outlining a holistic approach to health that integrates the mind, body, and spirit.

Yoga was not just about physical postures but also about mental discipline and spiritual growth.

The 1900s

Fast forward to the 20th century, and the wellness movement began to gain traction.

In the 1950s and 60s, wellness was popularized as a concept that goes beyond mere physical health to include emotional, mental, and spiritual well being.

Pioneers like Halbert Dunn and John Travis expanded the idea of wellness to incorporate a more comprehensive view of health, one that includes lifestyle choices and personal growth.

Today

With the rise of social media, particularly Instagram, wellness turned into a visually appealing trend instead of a way of life.

Instagram is flooded with photos showcasing luxurious bubble baths, “me time”, smoothies, perfectly steeped tea, YouTube vloggers upload videos of self care routines and each image is carefully curated to reflect an idealized version of self care.

While these images promote wellness practices, they miss the deeper meaning of wellness.

Beyond the Surface: What Wellness Truly Means

Redefining-Wellness

Wellness is more than just a series of pleasant rituals.

It’s a profound journey toward personal fulfillment and authentic living.

Here’s how we can redefine wellness:

1. Personal Development: The Holistic Journey of Transformation

True wellness starts with a commitment to personal development.

This isn’t just about acquiring new skills or knowledge but about embracing a journey of self discovery and growth.

It’s not just about eating healthy, meditating, journaling, praying…

It’s about all of that and more.

It’s about focusing on all of the fundamental pillars of a human being, the spirit, the mind, the body, the heart, and improving in all areas of your life.

That’s why we created 4 campuses inside the Superhuman University, one for each pillar, so you can focus on improving all of them, not just one like the limitation on many other platforms.

If you want to start your self transformation journey, join the Superhuman University here!

2. Authenticity: Living True to Yourself

Embracing wellness also means living authentically.

It’s about honoring who you are at your core and expressing your true self without fear of judgment.

It’s about following your truth and your purpose.

If you are not a person who likes to go out in night clubs every weekend, honor that… if you are not the type of person who can manage to be stuck in an office 8 hours per day, honor that…

Wellness is not about your bubble bath, it’s about living an authentic life that’s true to your self.

3. Emotional Well being: Navigating Life with Grace

Emotional well being is another critical aspect of wellness.

It involves understanding and managing your emotions effectively, building resilience, and nurturing positive relationships.

Your self care routine might help you relax, but it’s not going to clean you from the suppressed emotions that you carry within your being.

Honesty, sincerity, vulnerability, and lots of releasing…

That’s true emotional wellness.

Brené Brown’s research on vulnerability and shame highlights the importance of emotional intelligence in wellness.

By embracing vulnerability and cultivating meaningful connections, we can navigate life’s challenges with greater resilience and compassion.

4. Physical Vitality: Nurturing Your Body

Finally, physical health remains a cornerstone of wellness.

Again, it’s about more than just exercise and nutrition, it’s about creating a lifestyle that supports overall vitality.

This is the nuanced difference: it’s not about escaping your life in wellness routines, exercises, yoga, meditation…

It’s about seamlessly incorporating these practices so they become your way of life.

Embracing a Holistic Approach

Embracing-a-Holistic-Approach-2

To truly embody wellness, we must adopt a holistic approach that integrates all these elements into our daily lives.

This means finding balance and harmony across different aspects of life, including physical health, emotional resilience, personal growth, and authentic living.

Instead of focusing on isolated aspects of wellness, set goals that address multiple dimensions of your life.

For example, if you aim to improve your physical health, also consider how you can enhance your emotional well being and personal development simultaneously.

Create daily routines that support your overall wellness.

This might include a balanced diet, regular exercise, mindfulness practices, and time for personal reflection and growth.

And regularly reflect on your progress.

Adjust your practices as needed.

Wellness is a journey, not a destination, and it requires ongoing self assessment and adaptation.

It is a deeply enriching journey that extends far beyond superficial practices.

Let’s move past the bubble baths and herbal tea and delve into the true essence of wellness, a journey of self discovery, transformation, and authentic living.

Break the Loop: The Mindset that Will Set You Free

“Insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results.” — Albert Einstein

This classic piece of wisdom rings true now more than ever.

In our quest for self improvement, many of us find ourselves trapped in repetitive cycles, hoping for change without altering our approach.

The Trap of Learned Helplessness

Ever find yourself stuck in a pattern, like hitting the snooze button every morning and then complaining about being late?

Or being unable to resist the urge to eat that sweet snack at 11pm after you start a diet, and then complaining that you cannot lose weight?

It’s a small example of what psychologists call learned helplessness, repeating familiar patterns and expecting a different outcome.

We often convince ourselves that if we just gather more information or listen to one more podcast, things will magically change.

But in reality, change requires more than passive consumption, it demands active engagement and a willingness to step out of our comfort zones.

Embrace a Different Mindset and Break the Loop

Embrace-a-Different-Mindset-and-Break-the-Loop

To escape the loop and achieve meaningful change, a shift in mindset is crucial.

Sometimes, the habits that once served us well can become barriers to our growth.

There are 3 things you need to consider when trying to change your mindset and liberate yourself from the vicious cycle:

Beliefs

Take Sarah, for instance.

She was a dedicated worker who stuck to the same routines for years.

Despite working long hours, she felt stagnant in her career.

Her problem was her mindset and beliefs.

She believed that she needs to do “hard work” in order to progress forward.

But that’s not necessarily the case.

What she needed was to delegate her work so she can focus on doing the important tasks that move the business forward.

It wasn’t until she questioned her assumptions about what constituted “hard work” and experimented with new strategies, like delegating tasks and focusing on her strengths, that she saw significant improvement.

Action

Action is where the magic happens.

Tom always dreamed of starting his own bakery but was paralyzed by fear.

Instead of waiting for the perfect moment, he took small but decisive steps, enrolling in a baking class, testing recipes, and eventually opening a small stall at a local market.

Each action, no matter how small, pushed him closer to his dream and helped him grow.

There is no perfect moment.

Action brings the magic to reality.

You can have all the best ideas on the planet, all the education and knowledge, but information is useless unless it is directing certain action.

If you want to escape the cycle, you need to take the right action.

Wake up early, buy that domain, stick to your diet plan, exercise…

These, seemingly mundane and boring tasks are the building blocks of your dreams.

Resilience

Finally, you need to be resilient.

Once you start interupting the usual pattern your mind is used to follow, it will feel hard.

Your mind hates everything that takes extra energy from you so it will try to push you back into following the old pattern.

Here is where resilience comes into play.

According to research, you need to put conscious effort, at least for 21 days to 66 days in order to change the pattern and make the new pattern to feel natural.

Setbacks are part of the journey.

Each rejection is tough, but see them as stepping stones, learning and improving with each experience.

Resilience is your way out.

The Dysfunction of Information Consumption

break-the-loop-mindset

In today’s digital age, information is everywhere.

We’re bombarded with self help articles, motivational videos, and endless podcasts.

While knowledge is powerful, merely consuming it doesn’t equate to progress.

That’s why our motto on Life Coach Code that you read in many of our articles is:

All the information on the planet is useless if you don’t take action.

We encourage people to pause after each article they read, absorb the information and decide what action they will take so they can have a real life transformation and become a better version of themselves.

Moving Forward with Purpose

To truly move forward, shift from passive consumption to active creation:

1. Set Clear Goals

Define what success means to you and chart a path to achieve it.

For example, if you want to improve your fitness, set a clear goal like running a 5K in three months and create a training plan to get there.

2. Build Consistent Habits

Establish daily practices that align with your goals.

If you want to write a book, set aside time each day to write, even if it’s just for 20 minutes.

Consistency is key to making progress.

3. Seek Continuous Improvement

Embrace a growth mindset of lifelong learning.

This means regularly reflecting on your experiences, seeking feedback, and being open to change.

It’s about evolving and adapting as you go along.

Stop The Insanity…

Breaking free from repetitive cycles and embracing change requires more than just wishing for a different outcome.

It calls for a change in mindset, bold actions, and resilience.

Remember Einstein’s words and recognize that achieving different results means thinking differently and acting decisively.

Move away from passive information consumption and empower yourself to take meaningful actions.

By doing so, you’ll pave the way to tangible progress and a more fulfilling life.

You hold the keys to your own freedom!

Don’t just consume information, take action, join the 30 Days Of Transformation here and step into a life you love: 30 Days of Transformation.

Life as a Prototype: The Blueprint for Success and Fulfillment

Navigating through life’s ups and downs can often feel like trying to steer a ship through stormy seas.

And learning how to navigate your ship is one of the greatest superpowers that you posses (but more about that later).

The biggest cause of our suffering is the way we see life.

Most of us have a plan of what they want their life to look like, the goals they need to achieve, how they need to get to those goals…

And if one thing goes away from script, we get disappointed.

But what if we viewed our lives not as a rigid blueprint, but as an evolving prototype?

Just like in product development where experimentation and adjustments are key, approaching life with this mindset can open doors to success and fulfillment we never thought possible.

Mike Tyson once said,

“Everyone has a plan until they get punched in the face.”

This perfectly captures how life doesn’t always follow the script we write.

Unexpected challenges are bound to come our way, and how we adapt to these surprises can shape our journey to success.

Why Viewing Life as a Prototype is a Game Changer:

The Blueprint for Success and Fulfillment

Embracing Uncertainty

Think of life as a big, colorful experiment.

When we accept that uncertainty is a natural part of the journey, and probably the only certain thing in life, we stop fearing the unknown and start seeing it as an adventure.

Instead of paralyzing ourselves with worry about what might go wrong, we start to see every challenge as a chance to learn and grow.

For instance, when I switched careers in my life for the first time, I felt nervous about the uncertainty ahead.

But by embracing the unknown and being open to learning from each experience, I found joy and fulfillment in this new path.

Agility and Experimentation

In the business world, being agile and willing to experiment is crucial for innovation.

The same goes for our personal lives.

By trying different approaches and being open to adjusting our strategies, we find what works best for us.

For example, when I started my blog, I experimented with various topics and writing styles.

Through this process, I discovered what resonated with my readers and refined my focus to create more meaningful content.

What if I was stubborn and sticked to the first topic I started writing about, the first tone and style, not changing anything, not getting feedback?

Well, you’ll probably not be here reading this piece then.

Progress Over Perfection

Viewing life as a prototype shifts our focus from seeking perfection to celebrating progress.

Every step forward, no matter how small, is a victory.

This mindset helps us to move past the fear of making mistakes and keeps us motivated.

But most importantly, it helps us keep moving forward toward our goals even if we hit an dead end.

Or the reward we expected is delayed.

Because we know that even the small step ahead is a win, and with it we are closer to our goals.

For instance, when I first started my business I expected clients to flood through the gates.

It took me months and months of refining my approach until I got my first client.

Each step, each strategy taught me something new and brought me closer to my goal.

I didn’t change my goal, I adjusted my path.

Resilience Through Adaptation

Life’s “punches,” whether they’re setbacks, failures, or unexpected twists, are part of the journey.

But that’s the filter that separates winners from losers.

Seeing life as a prototype helps us bounce back with resilience.

It teaches us to adapt, adjust, and keep going despite the challenges.

For example, when a major project I was leading didn’t meat its mark, I used the experience to reassess and pivot my approach.

You remember that old wisdom, it’s either a success or a lesson.

This flexibility allowed me to recover and tackle new opportunities with renewed energy and greater wisdom.

adapt, adjust, and overcome.

4 Practical Steps to Live Life as a Prototype:

Life-as-a-Prototype

1. Set Flexible Goals

Think of your goals as a general direction rather than a strict roadmap.

It’s great to know where you want to go, but being open to changing your course based on new information is key.

For example, if your goal is to start a business, you might begin with a specific idea but stay open to adjusting your business model as you learn more about your market and customers.

Remember, adjust the sails not the destination.

2. Take Small, Iterative Steps

Focus on making small, manageable changes rather than trying to achieve everything at once. Each step you take provides valuable feedback that helps guide your next move.

Research in behavioral science supports the idea that small, incremental changes are more effective for long term behavior modification.

This concept is often referred to as “gradual change” or “small steps.”

According to the Fogg Behavior Model (Fogg, 2009), behavior change is most likely to occur when people are motivated, able, and prompted to act.

Small steps make the change process less daunting, thereby increasing the likelihood of success.

Rome wasn’t built in a day.

3. Reflect and Learn

Regularly take time to reflect on your experiences and what you’ve learned.

This helps you make informed adjustments and keep evolving.

For example, after completing a project or reaching a milestone, take a moment to assess what worked well and what didn’t.

Use this insight to refine your approach and continue growing.

You can open a word document or Google docs and link it with your phone.

This way, no matter where you are, you can write notes and reflections inside this document.

It will serve you as a log with wise lessons that you uncovered with your experience to guide you on your journey.

4. Embrace Failure as Feedback

Instead of seeing failure as a setback, view it as a chance to gather feedback and learn.

Each failure teaches us something valuable and helps us improve.

When I faced setbacks, I learned to see them as opportunities to refine my skills and strategies.

And you can do that too.

Embracing this perspective helped me stay resilient and motivated.

You can open your word document and write the lessons you’ve learned from the setbacks.

This way you will have a powerful reminder to help you choose your strategies with greater wisdom.

Your Greatest Superpower…

Viewing life as a prototype is more than just a mindset, it’s a powerful way to navigate the twists and turns of life with grace and confidence.

Do you remember what we said in the beginning of the article, “learning how to navigate the stormy seas is your greatest superpower”?

In life, you cannot control most of the things that happen to you… but, you can control the meaning you give to them.

Just like with sailing on a boat, you cannot control where the wind is blowing, against you, sideways…

But you can always adjust your sails to move forward, or at least not be pushed back.

You can always assign meaning to the things you have no control over that helps you move forward.

Remember, it’s not about having a perfect plan but about embracing the journey and making the most of each step along the way.

So, take a deep breath, keep experimenting, and enjoy the adventure of crafting your own blueprint for a successful and fulfilling life.

The Power of Doubt: Turning Uncertainty into Fuel for Success

Doubt is an emotion we all face at some point in our careers and personal lives.

It can make us question our abilities, decisions, and the paths we’ve chosen.

However, doubt doesn’t have to be a dead end, it can be the catalyst for profound growth and achievement.

Embracing doubt and learning to navigate it can transform it from a stumbling block into a stepping stone toward your dreams.

The Role of Doubt in Our Career and Life Path

turning-uncertainty-into-fuel-for-success

Doubt often emerges when we’re stepping out of our comfort zones, challenging ourselves to achieve more.

“Am I good enough?” or

“What if I fail?”

These doubts can paralyze us if left unchecked, but they can also ignite a fire of determination.

The key lies in our response to doubt.

Do we let it hold us back, or do we harness it to propel us forward?

Doubt pushes us to evaluate our goals, refine our strategies, and seek the support we need.

It’s in these moments of uncertainty that we find the motivation to improve, adapt, and ultimately succeed.

A career coach, especially one with a proven track record across a diverse base of clients, can be instrumental in this journey.

With the right coach, doubt becomes a tool for growth rather than an obstacle.

5 Daily Habits to Overcome Doubt and Advance Your Goals:

1. Daily Affirmations

Start your day with positive affirmations that reinforce your capabilities and potential.

Remind yourself of past successes and the skills you possess.

This practice builds confidence and diminishes the power of doubt.

2. Set Small, Achievable Goals

Break down your larger career and life goals into smaller, manageable tasks.

Celebrate each accomplishment, no matter how minor it seems.

This approach not only makes your goals feel more attainable but also provides regular boosts of confidence.

3. Reflect and Journal

Spend a few minutes each day reflecting on your progress and journaling your thoughts.

Writing about your doubts and fears can help you process them and gain clarity.

Over time, you’ll see patterns of growth and resilience in your entries.

4. Seek Feedback

Regularly seek feedback from trusted mentors, peers, or your career coach.

Constructive criticism helps you improve, while positive feedback reinforces your strengths.

This balance keeps doubt in check and supports continuous improvement.

5. Engage in Continuous Learning

Commit to learning something new every day, whether it’s a skill related to your career or a personal interest.

Expanding your knowledge and abilities boosts your confidence and keeps doubt at bay.

Setting Boundaries: The Ultimate Act of Self Love for Success and Fulfillment

In the quest for success and a fulfilling life, we often underestimate the importance of self love.

Yet, it’s the prerequisite of any success and fulfillment.

One of the most powerful ways to practice self love is by setting boundaries.

Think of boundaries as the protective walls around your personal space, keeping out negativity and preserving your energy.

Here’s why setting boundaries is so important and how it’s a vital act of self love…

3 Main Benefits of Setting Boundaries:

Main-Benefits-of-Setting-Boundaries

Your mind and heart are like a beautiful, delicate garden.

When you allow too many weeds (negative people and situations) into your garden, it starts to lose its vibrancy.

Setting boundaries is like building a fence around your garden to keep the weeds out.

Let me tell you a story…

I used to have a friend who often called me during work hours to chat about trivial matters.

It was disrupting my focus and making me feel overwhelmed.

She was my dear friend, and I loved her a lot, but her calls really disrupted my focus, and it started to affect my productivity and work quality.

This had to stop, but I didn’t know how to tell her without she getting offended.

Then, I remembered something I read a long time ago, setting boundaries is not about getting rid of people, it’s about creating comfortable environment for yourself so later you can fully connect with others.

When we allow others to interupt our work in order to chat about trivial things, we don’t focus fully neither on our work, nor on our friends.

Nobody wins.

So, I had to set a boundary by asking for a specific time to catch up, which helped me protect my work time and maintain my peace of mind.

And, when we later catched up, I was fully focused on my friend.

As you can see, setting boundaries has 3 main benefits:

  1. Preserving mental and emotional well being.
  2. Enhancing productivity.
  3. Fostering healthy relationships.

The Contagious Nature of Energy:

The-Contagious-Nature-of-Energy

Energy can spread like wildfire.

Just as a cheerful person can brighten your day, a negative person can dampen your mood.

It’s crucial to be mindful of who you spend your time with.

For instance, I remember a period when I was surrounded by friends who constantly complained about everything.

Their negativity was rubbing off on me, making me feel drained.

I was waking up sluggish, doing efforts to motivate myself, to put myself in a great and productive mood…

And just 10 minutes with them all of that was gone.

By setting boundaries and spending more time with positive, encouraging people, I felt my own energy and mood improve significantly.

Ok, so how to set boundaries?

4 Practical Steps to Set Boundaries:

setting-boundaries-self-love-for-success

1. Identify Your Limits

Understanding what drains your energy and what refuels it is the first step in setting effective boundaries.

Reflect on your interactions and notice how they affect your mood.

For example, if you find that social media consumes a lot of your time and leaves you feeling anxious, it’s a sign that you might need to set boundaries around your social media use.

Make a list with two columns, on one side write the things that drain your energy, and on the other side write the things that fill you up with energy.

Identify the Top 3 from each column.

And now you know what to do… set strict boundaries for the top 3 things that drain your energy and implement more time doing the top 3 things that refill your fuel.

2. Communicate Clearly

Setting boundaries requires clear and assertive communication.

It’s like drawing a line in the sand that others need to respect.

For instance, if you have a coworker who frequently interrupts you while you’re working, let them know that you’re focusing on a project and would appreciate it if they could wait until you’re available.

Clear communication helps others understand your needs and respect your boundaries.

It doesn’t have to be this angry, “enough is enough” attitude when you are setting a boundary.

It can be loving, gentle, and respectful.

3. Prioritize Self Care

Self care is crucial for reinforcing your boundaries.

It’s like regular maintenance for a well functioning machine.

Schedule time for activities that recharge you, whether it’s a relaxing walk, a hobby you love, or simply taking a break.

For example, I set aside Sunday evenings as my personal time to unwind and prepare for the week.

This routine helps me stay balanced and reinforces my boundaries with work and social obligations.

4. Distance Yourself from Energy Vampires

Not everyone who drains your energy is intentionally harmful, in fact, most of them are not even aware they are energy vampires.

People who drain your energy might just be mismatched with your current needs.

Instead of cutting people off abruptly, manage your interactions thoughtfully.

For example, if certain people consistently leave you feeling drained, limit your time with them and focus on nurturing relationships with those who energize and support you.

Embracing Boundaries as an Act of Self Love:

Setting boundaries is a powerful way to show yourself love and respect.

It’s about acknowledging that you deserve to protect your well being and energy.

As a coach, I often see how setting and maintaining boundaries transforms people’s lives.

It’s not about being rigid or unkind but about honoring your needs and creating a space where you can thrive.

If you want to learn how to set healthy boundaries and get your true power back, join the 30 Days Of Transformation here and step into a life you love: 30 Days of Transformation.

Conclusion:

Setting boundaries and managing your energy are not just practical steps but profound acts of self love.

They help preserve your mental and emotional health, boost your productivity, and build healthier relationships.

Remember, your energy is precious, choose to surround yourself with positivity and support.

By setting boundaries, you create a nurturing environment that allows you to achieve your goals and enjoy a fulfilling life.

Embrace this practice of self love and watch how it transforms your journey toward success and happiness.

Exploring the Depths of Existence: Quantum Physics, Consciousness, and Human Connection

What do Quantum Physics, Consciousness, and Human Connection have in common?

In the quest to understand the nature of existence, we find ourselves pondering profound questions that bridge the realms of science, philosophy, and psychology.

“How do we know?” This fundamental inquiry leads us into a labyrinth of thought, where the mysteries of quantum physics, the intricacies of consciousness, and the essence of human connection intertwine.

In this exploration, we delve into the stillness of the universe, the projections of the unconscious mind, and the evolving nature of human relationships, seeking to uncover deeper truths about our existence.

The Stillness of the Universe and Quantum Physics

Quantum physics, with its intricate theories and enigmatic phenomena, offers a glimpse into the stillness and potential that underpin our universe.

Concepts like black holes and the space of pure potential challenge our conventional understanding of reality.

Black holes, regions of spacetime where gravity is so intense that nothing can escape, symbolize the ultimate stillness, a place where time and space cease to exist as we know them.

This realm of pure potential raises questions about the nature of existence itself.

How do we know that such stillness exists?

Scientific advancements and theoretical physics provide evidence and models that support these ideas, yet they remain shrouded in mystery.

The space of pure potential, where quantum fluctuations occur, hints at a universe teeming with possibilities, awaiting realization.

Human Significance in the Quantum Realm

Do these vast and silent phenomena care about human beings?

From a scientific standpoint, The Universe operates independently of human concerns.

However, philosophical perspectives invite us to ponder our role in the grand scheme.

Are we mere observers, or do we play an integral part in the unfolding of the cosmos?

The answers may lie in our consciousness and our quest for meaning.

The Nature of Consciousness and Unconscious Motives

exploring-the-depths-of-existence

Projections of the Unconscious Mind

As we navigate the complexities of existence, we often grapple with the notion that our thoughts and actions may be projections of unconscious motives.

This idea, rooted in psychological theories, suggests that our conscious mind is only the tip of the iceberg, with a vast, hidden realm beneath the surface influencing our behavior.

Freud’s psychoanalytic theory, for instance, posits that unconscious desires and fears shape our conscious thoughts.

Carl Jung further explored the idea of the collective unconscious, a shared reservoir of experiences and archetypes that influence our perceptions and actions.

Could it be that our quest for something “better” is driven by these deep seated motives, an attempt to reconcile our inner conflicts?

Insecurity and the Search for Meaning

This introspection often leads to a sense of insecurity.

Why do we feel the need to search for something beyond the present moment?

Is it an inherent human trait, or a reflection of our inner turmoil?

As we question the purpose of our existence, we may find that seeking answers is a way to cope with the uncertainty and impermanence of life.

So, if life is fundamentally uncertain and impermanent, what else is there to lean onto?

The Paradox of the Present Moment

Isn’t it funny how when we come fully aware of the present moment, almost all of our worries and pondering questions disappear?

The philosophy of living in the present moment advocates for a mindful existence, free from the burdens of past regrets and future anxieties.

Yet, for some, this notion feels limiting.

Why does the present moment, in all its simplicity, seem insufficient?

The Quest for Something More

The paradox lies in our innate desire for growth and improvement.

While mindfulness encourages us to embrace the present, the human spirit yearns for progress.

This quest for something more may be an essential part of our nature, driving us to explore, create, and evolve.

The challenge is to balance the acceptance of the present with the pursuit of our aspirations.

Maslow’s Hierarchy of Self Actualization

Abraham Maslow’s hierarchy of self actualization offers a framework for understanding human motivation.

At the pinnacle of this pyramid lies self actualization, the realization of one’s full potential.

Living in a flow state, where one is fully immersed in a task and experiences a sense of timelessness and fulfillment, is often seen as the epitome of self actualization.

The Liberal Soul and Privilege

However, this pursuit raises questions about privilege and social justice.

If achieving a flow state and self actualization is a hallmark of a privileged life, how do we reconcile this with the desire for equality and universal rights?

The tension between individual fulfillment and collective well being challenges us to consider the broader implications of our quest for personal growth and self realization.

Human Connection and Consciousness

In recent times, the nature of human connection has undergone significant transformation.

As a therapist, I’ve observed a dichotomy: while some individuals make rapid progress in their personal growth, others experience regression.

This phenomenon reflects a shift in consciousness and social dynamics, where traditional forms of connection give way to new paradigms.

Motivation and Regression

Motivation, or the lack thereof, plays a crucial role in this dynamic.

Some individuals are driven to strive harder, propelled by a sense of purpose and ambition.

Others, however, find themselves demotivated, their progress hindered by external and internal factors.

Understanding these trends requires a nuanced approach that considers both psychological and societal influences.

The Therapist’s Perspective

From a therapist’s perspective, the rapid progress and regression observed in clients offer valuable insights into the human condition.

Those who progress often exhibit resilience, adaptability, and a strong sense of purpose.

Conversely, those who regress may struggle with deep-seated issues that require compassionate intervention and support.

Vulnerability and Manipulation

The vulnerability of individuals experiencing severe regression cannot be overstated.

They are susceptible to manipulation and exploitation, making it imperative for helping professionals to approach their care with empathy and ethical responsibility.

This highlights the importance of fostering environments that support mental health and well being.

Seeking Stillness and Shared Experiences

In the midst of these complexities, finding a place of stillness and quiet can offer solace and clarity.

Practices such as meditation, mindfulness, and reflective solitude allow us to connect with the deeper aspects of our consciousness.

This inner stillness provides a sanctuary from the noise of daily life, enabling us to explore our true selves.

Common Human Experiences

Ultimately, the questions and experiences explored in this article are shared by many.

We are not alone in our quest for meaning, connection, and understanding.

By acknowledging our shared humanity and engaging in collective exploration, we can foster a sense of belonging and support one another on our individual journeys.

Conclusion

As we navigate the intricate tapestry of existence, the interplay between quantum physics, consciousness, and human connection offers profound insights into our nature.

Embracing the present moment, striving for self actualization, and fostering meaningful connections are all part of this journey.

In the end, it is the pursuit of these questions and the exploration of these themes that enriches our lives, inviting us to delve deeper into the mysteries of existence and find our place within the cosmos.

First of all, how are you and your family doing after these Pandemic times?

Currently, I can say we are doing fine.

It is interesting that you mentioned the pandemic times.

Even though the world appeared to come to a standstill, personal development, challenges, and relationships, all progressed at an accelerated pace.

For a lot of people, stopping meant having more time to deal with themselves, which is by far the most challenging thing (considering, of course, that you have your basic requirements for human survival met).

The relationships that previously flourished did so even more, while those that suffered faced even greater challenges, leading to their accelerated collapse.

In our case, I have to say that it helped us forge a stronger bond, especially between my son and me.

How did the coronavirus pandemic affect your clients? Did it affect you at all?

During the pandemic, I was not coaching clients yet, but I did have mentees.

The effects were similar, navigating through uncertainties and personal challenges that inevitably spilled over into professional ones.

Therefore, we needed to address these issues holistically.

I can’t say the pandemic negatively impacted me, instead, I gained a wealth of valuable insights about myself and society as a whole.

What are the biggest lessons that you learned in this pandemic?

As mentioned earlier, even though the world appeared to come to a standstill, personal development, challenges, and relationships all progressed at an accelerated pace.

The Origin:

Tell us about you, your career, how you started with your coaching career?

School always came easy to me, and I excelled in getting good grades.

However, I soon realized that the narrative of “just finish college and you’ll be well off” didn’t hold true for everyone.

I was unsure about my career path and ended up choosing social studies, particularly political science.

But when I entered the real world, I encountered the harsh reality of job hunting.

Despite gaining valuable experiences as a student, securing employment proved to be a completely different challenge.

Eventually, I got an opportunity to work in a public agency, although the financial rewards were not substantial.

Determined to advance in my career, I enrolled in the Master’s program in Business Management and Organization at the Faculty of Economics.

I believed this would open doors for me, but I soon realized I was mistaken.

Seeking a change, I decided to pivot my career and pursue real estate appraisal, hopeful that it would provide better financial stability for my growing family.

I was wrong again.

During this time, I faced numerous challenges and at times felt overwhelmed.

However, I never lost hope or wavered in my belief that there was more to discover.

I persevered, accepting the challenges that came my way and giving my best effort.

I actively participated in several projects, contributing to the establishment of different registers.

One significant milestone was managing the renewal of the public agency website, where we successfully bridged the gap between public and private services, always keeping the end user in mind.

This experience not only helped me grow personally and professionally but also enabled me to gain a deeper understanding of myself and what I have to offer.

It marked the beginning of significant self discovery and life lessons.

With no major challenges left to conquer, I embarked on a search for new opportunities to continue my growth.

This path led me to a role as a Business IT Analyst and Consultant within a dynamic corporation.

Here, I successfully bridged the gap between IT and business, creating powerful synergies that drove results.

During this time, I also had the privilege of being a part of AmCham Young Professionals, an exceptional community of individuals with remarkable mindsets and boundless energy.

Additionally, I volunteered as a mentor, assisting individuals in transitioning from school to the business world, which was a truly rewarding experience.

This experience was life changing and it impacted my personal and professional growth.

It further enhanced my self development and instilled even more confidence in my abilities and what I have to offer.

After dedicating half a decade to consulting, I found myself eager for new challenges and growth.

My journey took a turn when I assumed the position of Digital Transformation Manager at an energetic company reminiscent of a global startup.

This role resonated with my purpose to integrate people, processes, and technology, although with greater complexity.

Simultaneously, as a lifelong learner, I joined the AEIOU leadership program, which further enriched my understanding of life’s principles and reinforced my dedication to helping others find their direction and purpose in life.

I have also secured a mentor to assist me in transitioning to coaching, obtained an Integrative Constructivist Coaching Diploma, and am currently pursuing the ICF ACC Certification to ensure compliance with the standards and best practices, thereby providing optimal support to my clients.

So I am currently here, in the process of creating content that allows others to understand who I am and how I can support their journey, serving as a trusted partner in embracing the changes that will help them unlock their greatest potential.

What was your biggest obstacle that you had to overcome in your life that made you who you are today?

I uncovered unresolved issues from my past that I had previously been unaware of, which hindered my ability to be honest with myself and to trust others, and vice versa.

This undoubtedly affected the quality of my personal and professional life.

Once I became conscious of these “blockers,” you could say I was “reprogrammed,” and within a few months, my life began to improve.

Of course, it wasn’t easy, and it required effort, but the shift in my mindset and energy attracted new people, experiences, and opportunities into my life that had previously seemed impossible, as the “fabric of life” had been skewed.

I also have to acknowledge that I owe a significant part of my growth to the invaluable formal and informal guidance and mentorship I have received along the way.

These mentors have played a crucial role in opening new horizons for me and enabling me to develop myself in ways I never thought possible.

It has not only helped me overcome personal challenges that were blocking my growth but also provided me with a profound life insight, the interconnectedness of personal and professional development.

Through this realization, I have learned to open up and embrace opportunities for growth on both fronts, leading to a more holistic and fulfilling journey.

The Coaching Style:

How do you innovate with coaching your clients?

I take the time to understand them and their challenges, then utilize my skills and talent to connect the dots and ask the right questions, enabling them to gain a deeper understanding of themselves and discover the answers they seek.

What’s unique about your coaching approach?

I strive to adopt a holistic approach to coaching, aiming to deeply understand my clients and their challenges.

For example, I recently wrote a blog post on how coaching can be leveraged through the various levels of Maslow’s Hierarchy.

By meeting clients where they are in the hierarchy and tailoring the coaching approach accordingly, we can help individuals address their most pressing needs and systematically work their way towards greater fulfillment in life.

The effectiveness of coaching also tends to increase as individuals progress up the hierarchy.

The higher the level of need, the more nuanced, expansive, and transformational the coaching process becomes.

Of course, the journey is rarely linear, and individuals may find themselves grappling with needs at multiple levels simultaneously.

But by maintaining a holistic, client centered approach, we can empower clients to break free of limiting patterns, develop resilience, and step into the fullness of their personal power.

Understanding the values we (think) we have, the life we (want to) live and our daily habits is also an important part of the equation if we aim to reach our fullest potential.

What benefits do your clients get after working with you?

A shift in life’s perspective, when acknowledged and embraced, often leads to achieving desired results.

As mentioned earlier, it is crucial to actively engage in life to manifest our desires, especially when everything is in alignment.

Do you use any specific tools to be efficient with your clients?

If by tools you mean techniques, methods such as scaling, the salmon line, and the ABC technique work wonders for building awareness.

To gain deeper insights, techniques like the miracle question and “the 5 whys” are quite effective.

It’s often beneficial to begin with the fundamentals, helping the client understand themselves through the values they believe they possess or wish to adopt, as well as the life they are currently living or aspire to live.

By shifting the focus from the immediate challenge to self reflection, clients often experience a profound realization: “Does this challenge truly reflect my desires?”

Introducing a new perspective or merely shifting the lens can open up an entirely new world, allowing clients to think and formulate challenges in a way that aligns more closely with their true selves, rather than adhering to what they think is right or what others have suggested.

As I mentioned earlier, my approach is holistic since every journey is unique.

The Impact:

If you had a super megaphone that, when you speak into, the whole world will hear your message, what would you say?

Find your purpose.

Challenge yourself, step out of your comfort zone, commit to lifelong learning, make meaningful contributions, and cultivate a strong network.

Finally, trust in life.

Although challenges can be tough at times, they offer us invaluable opportunities for growth and learning.

And above all, keep your curiosity alive!

What is the greatest lesson you have learned in your life?

Life presents us with a myriad of challenges, both in our personal and professional lives.

These challenges, though sometimes difficult, provide us with valuable opportunities for growth and learning.

Each individual’s journey is unique, and it is through our experiences that we gain wisdom and insight.

Trusting life is important, but to realize our potential and align with it, we must deeply understand ourselves and our life goals.

It’s essential however to actively participate in life in order to manifest our vision.

Your final thoughts?

As my mission of connecting people, processes, and technology naturally evolved into assisting individuals in discovering their purpose and meaning in life, I witnessed the profound impact this can have on their lives, which is incredibly rewarding.

It brings me immense joy to guide them into a new era of possibilities and to see the results of their transformation.
