While the numbers vary from study to study, it is widely accepted that around 96% of gamblers are classified as recreational gamblers while the label of problem gambler applies to the remaining 4%.
Both of these categories can be broken down further into an array of sub categories.
If you were to walk into a bustling casino and get to know all of the players, you would discover that those people are there for different reasons.
Even though a common denominator would be the prospect of winning money, you’d find that it goes much deeper than that.
In a lot of cases, the folks you meet will tell you that it boils down to entertainment.
They enjoy the adrenaline rush that comes with a win regardless of the size of it.
They are just trying to have a bit of fun.
Of course, those aren’t the only reasons.
The Fascinating Psychology of a Gambler:
Competition
You are also likely to run into players who partake in gambling activities out of a sense of competitiveness.
When they bet on sports or play games of skill like poker, making the correct reads and the right choices brings a lot of satisfaction.
It provides the player with a confidence boost.
However, in terms of gambling, a competitive nature can be both a blessing and a curse.
While a competitive personality might drive a person to hone their skills and improve their knowledge, it can also result in a win at all costs approach that can sometimes lead to unethical and irresponsible behaviour.
Socialising
For some people, gambling provides an opportunity to socialise with others.
Take a person who plays in a weekly poker game with the same group.
To that person, the poker game itself might take a backseat to the banter and overall camaraderie.
Interestingly, this applies to online casinos as well.

For some people, this means going to a movie, participating in sports, or taking a much needed vacation.
Well, gambling offers the same type of respite.
The thing is, reality is always waiting for you when you walk out of the theatre or when you return from your holiday.
Sadly, some people prefer to keep their heads in the sand by continuing to gamble instead of solving their problems.
Compulsion
It doesn’t matter what your motivations for gambling are.
Anyone who does it risks losing control.
It can lead to the type of compulsive and obsessive behaviour that can ruin lives and careers.

But the most important thing, even before starting to play, is to understand for oneself: gambling addiction is a real threat.
Gambling addicts have very little or no control at all over their destructive behaviour even if they know that it’s a serious problem.
Gambling is no longer fun when things reach this stage.
It’s worth noting that compulsive gambling is often a sign of other serious psychological disorders like anxiety or depression.
A person’s psychology influences their gambling behaviour although other factors like age, gender, and socio economic status also play a role.
Even though the overall percentage of problem gamblers is small, that seemingly minuscule 4% represents tens of millions of people all over the world.
These people started gambling for a wide range of reasons, but they all share one common characteristic.
They do not have control over their actions as far as gambling is concerned.
At least they don’t anymore.

This may be a cliché, but the message is as relevant as ever in an age in which gambling is so easily accessible and more socially acceptable.
For anyone who is about to start looking for help with their addiction to drugs, it can be a challenging time.
It’s a big step and a step that’s often into the unknown, with the only thing certain being that it will have a positive impact on your life in the long run.
The detoxification can be the most difficult time for many, especially the early stages.
But it’s worth persevering as when you get through it, you can enter recovery and learn to cope with the stresses and challenges, and then you can get your life back on track.
The process begins with a comprehensive assessment and evaluation of your physical health.
What’s more, you’ll also discuss the history of your substance use, and misuse, as well as your overall psychological well being.
This will involve interviews, examinations, lab tests, and psychological assessments.
This is an important stage as it will help determine the most appropriate approach to detoxification, as well as whether you are ready and strong enough for it.
A full plan will be put in place to suit each person’s needs when it comes to the detox.
2. Stabilisation
Once the assessment is complete, the next stage is stabiliasation.

They can be incredibly severe in some instances and include nausea, vomiting, diarrhoea, sweating, muscle aches, anxiety, insomnia and, of course, cravings for drugs.
The intensity and duration of withdrawal symptoms can range from mild discomfort to severe distress, with peak symptoms typically occurring within the first few days of detox.
While withdrawal symptoms can be challenging to endure, they are a natural part of the detoxification process as the body adjusts to the absence of drugs.
Medical and psychological support is essential during this stage to help individuals manage symptoms effectively and prevent relapse.
4. Emotional and Psychological Adjustment
In addition to physical symptoms, drug detox often involves emotional and psychological adjustments as individuals confront the underlying issues driving their substance abuse.
Many individuals experience mood swings, anxiety, depression, and cravings for the drug as they navigate the emotional complexities of detoxification.
Therapy, counselling, and support groups play a crucial role in helping individuals address underlying trauma, negative thought patterns, and maladaptive coping mechanisms that contribute to addiction.
Through introspection, self reflection, and therapeutic interventions, individuals can gain insight into their addictive behaviours and develop healthier coping strategies for managing stress, emotions, and triggers in sobriety.
5. Transition to Treatment and Aftercare
The final stage of drug detox involves transitioning to ongoing treatment and aftercare to support long term recovery.
Detoxification alone is rarely sufficient to address the underlying causes of addiction or prevent relapse in the long term.
Therefore, it’s essential for individuals to continue their treatment journey with comprehensive addiction treatment programmes that address physical, psychological, and social aspects of recovery.
This may include residential or outpatient rehabilitation, individual and group therapy, support groups such as Narcotics Anonymous (NA) or SMART Recovery, and holistic therapies such as mindfulness, yoga, and art therapy.
Aftercare planning is also crucial to provide individuals with the support and resources they need to maintain sobriety and prevent relapse after detox.
This may involve ongoing therapy, medication assisted treatment, sober living arrangements, vocational training, and community based support services.

Great!
How did the coronavirus pandemic affect your clients? Did it affect you at all?
At the time I was in a corproate job so I didn’t experience anything related to clients at that time.
The pandemic was actually the first time I was able to be alone in a really long time.
Once my husband went back to the office and my kids went back to school, I was able to experience who I was without the influence of others around me.
IT WAS MAGICAL!
I leaned into my natural energy, embodied my gifts and started to hone in on my mastery.
I studied many things including Human Design and the subconscious system.
This time slowed me down, allowed me to reflect, empowered me to integrate and embody my potential and catapulted me into the topics and modalities that I now offer my clients.
What are the biggest lessons that you learned in this pandemic?
That you can only “control” you and it is sooooo important to listen to your own inner wisdom.
There was so much uncertainty and it was apparent that most people around the world were scared and unsure of what was to come.
As someone who is deeply connected to my intuition it was difficult to witness so many people making decisions from such a disempowered and fearful state.
It showed me that most people are looking outside of them for answers, guidance and the “truth.”
It taught me to deeply trust myself and to believe that I know what’s right for me.
It taught me to filter the noise and to use discernment.
It also allowed me to trust others to figure out what is best for them.
I now know that each person is on their own journey and I trust them to navigate it.
The Origin:
Tell us about you, your career, how you started with your coaching career?
I am a natural born guide and have always been the person in my group that people go to for advice and to validate their experience.
I have always been obsessed with understanding myself and others through various lenses and have a deep need for everyone to know they are innately worthy and valuable.
I have stumbled across a few transformational modalities that I believe quickly and effectively allow people to embody this knowing.
I have recently answered the calling to provide my deep wisdom and awareness of several of these systems and methodologies to help others discover their inherent worth, natural strengths, and intrinsic value.
I only coach those that are truly ready to release the things that aren’t serving their highest potential and are ready to integrate all of the lessons learned and rise into the person they were born to be.
I guide people through the blueprint of their energetics, help them discover how to optimize and maximize their mental energy and help them overcome painful patterns and limiting beliefs because they deserve to live a life of peace, success, satisfaction, and joy.
What was your biggest obstacle that you had to overcome in your life that made you who you are today?
I was raised in a way that I created the belief that relationships were everything and it was not okay for close relationships to shift, change, or end.
Due to this and my intrinsic nature, I deeply value my relationships and those who I choose to be in relationship with.
Time spent invested in others is a conscious choice and something I cherish.
In 2019 my entire foundation was rocked.
I had just had my second child in late 2018 and I went back to work after maternity leave.
At that time, my best friend of 20 years had her third baby and, while we talked every day, I didn’t realize that she was building emotional distance and creating excuses not to see me.
I thought she was just “busy,” as most people are with three kids with one being a newborn.
About six months passed and we went on a staycation with two other friends.
It was like the truth of our relationship at that moment hit me all at once.
The energy was weird.
It was off.
There was resentment.
There was anger.
There was resistance.
And then I realized she had been avoiding me for the last six months but never confronted me about how she was feeling.
Everything I thought was true suddenly wasn’t and I couldn’t trust myself and my sense of judgement.
How could I not see this coming!?
How could I not know that she felt this was?
How come she didn’t want to talk to me about it?
How could I be so stupid?
How come she didn’t want me in her life anymore?
Was I that insignificant?
Did I not provide value in her life?
Did she not care about our 20 year friendship to work through this?
I had so many questions bombarding me and too many overwhelming emotions to process.
I was confused, disoriented and out of place.
The rhythm of my life came to a screeching halt.
It was this event that turned my whole world upside down and further propelled me into the depths of my belief system and empowered me to truly heal.
Overcoming the painful reality of losing my person and the many, many beliefs I held that kept me stuck, was something I am eternally grateful for and immensely proud of.
I can now look back at our relationship with gratitude and an understanding that she is one of my greatest teachers.
The pain that I experienced ended up leading me back to myself.
I am finally at peace and can move forward in an empowered way.
From that experience, I have more self awareness, understanding, trust, compassion, value, and an ability to connect with others on a deeper level than ever before.
It brought me closer to what I value and solidified what I expect out of relationships.

I use the most effective modalities that I have found to provide profound transformation and integration.
As an energetic and mindset master, I guide my clients into a place where they are able to master their emotions and beliefs while stepping into their highest potential.

What’s unique about your coaching approach?
I use a holistic approach that includes aligning my clients to their intuition and natural strengths as well as maximizing their mental energy and breaking through underlying limiting beliefs that hold them back.
My approach is designed specifically to the individual based on their unique energetics, strengths, needs and beliefs.
It works on both the conscious and subconscious level.
The reason this is imperative is because our subconscious programs run 95% of our day.
It’s really difficult to make lasting changes if you’re only working with the conscious awareness.
I don’t offer one size fits all method, each session is tailored to the individual so they get the most impact and rise into their full potential.

First, there is no silver bullet to growth and healing.
You can’t force it, but you can choose to use every painful event as an important queue to go inward.
You can choose to rise out of being a victim and be empowered to heal the parts of you that are wounded.
Second, EVERYTHING is energy.
If we can master our energy, be authentic to who we were meant to be and challenge our belief systems, we can rise into our fullest potential and provide immense healing and value to the world.
I believe most people are good and want to be in service to others and the best way to do that is to heal so we can shine as brightly as possible.
Each person is part of a giant puzzle and each piece serves a very unique and special purpose.

Tell us about you, your career, how you started with your coaching career?
My career began with a foundation in finance and marketing, where I spent over a decade as a Financial Advisor and Managing Principal, overseeing significant portfolios totaling over $500 million.
However, despite my professional success, my personal life was in turmoil.
I became my own first client, grappling with health issues in digestion and navigating the breakdown of my marriage, which left me financially devastated as a single parent raising my children.
Amidst these challenges, I took a year to prioritize my own well being, I made a solemn commitment to dedicate my life to the path of healing and personal transformation.
This period of introspection led me to explore various modalities, from studying physics and energy medicine to immersing myself in the practices of holistic healing.
My inner calling ultimately guided me to an ashram, where I delved deep into the realms of consciousness and spirituality.
Through this immersive journey, I unlocked a profound understanding of the mind and body connection and the transformative power of reprogramming the subconscious brain.

What was your biggest obstacle that you had to overcome in your life that made you who you are today?
The defining moment that shaped me into who I am today occurred when someone I loved, in the depths of their own struggles and sense of worth, attempted to take my life.
It was a harrowing experience that brought me to my absolute lowest point, a rock bottom from which I thought I might never emerge.
In that moment of darkness and despair, I faced the stark reality of mortality and the fragility of human relationships.
It was a profound awakening, forcing me to confront the complexities of love, pain, and forgiveness.
Yet, in the depths of that darkness, I found a flicker of resilience and inner strength that I never knew existed within me.

First of all, how are you and your family doing after these Pandemic times?
My whole world was turned upside down in the year of 2020.
I became a first time new Mom (gave birth to my Daughter Feb 2020) and was in isolation figuring out how to manage a newborn and dealing with Mask mandates, the fear of getting sick with this “new disease” as well as the heart wrenching decision to choose between keeping my job and being forced to take a new vaccine.
I’ve been practicing detoxification and was on a journey, in search of answers to my own health issues for over 10yrs.
But the awareness and consciousness catapulted BIG time when I started researching more in the year 2020.
The information I’ve stumbled across was information that can keep you up at night after hearing it, to say the least.
How did the coronavirus pandemic affect your clients? Did it affect you at all?
There is quite a bit to say on this subject.
As mentioned earlier, the year of 2020 was pivotal for me.
Instead of listening to music on my commute to work, I invested hours of my time listening to podcasts and alternative news outlets.
Mainstream news is intentionally presented to create fear.
I’ve learned in a nutshell that there will always be SOMETHING NEW… A new virus, or political discontentment, or celebrity drama to keep our minds occupied.
We are in the new Age of Aquarius and from my trusted sources and knowledge gathered, there will be a big divide between those that are asleep and those that are conscious, aware, intuitive, and awake.
I’m here to help those that are awake or want to wake up.
What are the biggest lessons that you learned in this pandemic?
We are bombarded with toxicity.
Our tap water is not drinkable, the air is sprayed with Chem Trails, the conventionally grown food is genetically modified, the seafood served in restaurants and sold in markets is farm raised, and the dairy and meats are injected with hormones and vaccines.
Additionally, our soils are mineral deficient and depleted and full of pesticides, fungicides, etc.
I have no doubt that the information from my trusted sources have led me to the conclusion that we are intentionally being poisoned slowly in efforts to control the population, limit our physical and mental potential as well as agendas including the war on masculinity.
You can get sad about it.
But i’m here to tell you that there are some amazing individuals who have created products that are so effective and worth the investment that absolutely do as they claim and beyond for your wellbeing.
There is power in numbers and the more people are informed, the less they can destroy.
The Origin:
Tell us about you, your career, how you started with your coaching career?
It’s quite a long story so please bear with me.
I am Half Persian and Half East Indian.
I am the eldest of 5 children and grew up with very humble beginnings including having to endure hardships and childhood trauma from a young age.
I was cultured and conditioned to eat a typical diet heavy on rice, meat, oils, dairy, carbohydrates, sweets and processed foods (out of a box) like pancakes, cereals, and macaroni and cheese.
My health started to decline at age 16 when I was feeling lethargic and experiencing painful heavy periods.
I was “diagnosed” with hypothyroidism and put on synthetic hormones via birth control (the Western Medicine approach to balancing hormones).
I remember the day that I intuitively knew that those pills were not what my body needed to actually HEAL.
That’s where I started my quest for answers to learn how the human body works, what we need to nourish ourselves to thrive in this life, not just survive.
It’s been over 10yrs since that journey started and after literally thousands of dollars spent, lots of trial and error, tears, frustration and energy expended, as well as precious time, I finally understand how to take care of myself.
As the time passed and I was figuring things out, I had new issues coming up including unexplained kidney pain, chronic cystitis, gallbladder issues, hair loss, difficulty losing weight, low thyroid which in turn affects energy, metabolism, body temperature regulation and struggled with heavy periods.
I am presently thriving on this lifestyle of detoxification and regeneration.
I’ve had over 100 colonics in 10yrs, have used frequency devices, ionic foot detox and infrared saunas as well as every supplement under the sun.
I am also a Registered Nurse for about 9yrs since 2015.
I’ve worked on a Native American Reservation as a Travel RN, in Home Health, Hospice, Burn ICU, Surgical ICU, Medical ICU, Cardiothoracic ICU, With VIP Private Clients, With Adults and Kids with Disabilities and Psychiatric diagnoses as well as Cerebral Palsy, Down Syndrome, Autism and Developmental Delays.
I’m currently working as an RN in Post Anesthesia Care and have seen so much in my career that is heartbreaking.
I have much respect for the Medical Profession when it’s necessary, for example: in the event of an unforeseen trauma like a car accident, surgery is required to fix a broken leg.
But there are literally a TON of issues I’ve seen with my patients that are so easily preventable and fixable just by detoxification, diet, and lifestyle modifications.
I was so sick of seeing the suffering.
I decided to enter the coaching world in the online space to help as many people as I can in terms of their health and wellness.
This includes physical, emotional, mental and spiritual wellness.
What was your biggest obstacle that you had to overcome in your life that made you who you are today?
My father struggled with his own issues his entire adult life.
He remains an alcoholic, and has an addiction to gambling amongst other self destructive debilitating habits.
He was barely home when I was growing up and not capable of providing me or my siblings the emotional connection or attachment we needed from a Father.
Instead of turning to the dark side, I found solace in studying and excelling in school academically.
I was not very sporty or given the opportunity to explore the arts or my interests as most children are encouraged to do so and their self esteem is built on playing sports or learning an instrument or dance.
I was always in survival mode.
I decided to pursue a career in Psychology and obtained my Bachelor of Arts in Psychology.
Then as life has its twists and turns, I realized that path was very linear and my personality and affinity for diversity lead me to a versatile career in Nursing that allows you to switch the types of populations one may want to work with.
For ex: Oncology, Labor and Delivery, Geriatric, OR nursing, etc.
Psychology helped me to understand what has shaped me to be the way I am as well as the importance of prioritizing self care and mental health.
I use my intuition and knowledge of Psychology to understand others.
My nursing Profession has further exposed to me the reality of Western Medicine and how self awareness and knowledge of how to take care of yourself is KEY to a life of fulfilment, wellness and longevity.
The Coaching Style:
How do you innovate with coaching your clients?
Damage and deterioration to the body does not happen overnight.
It’s years of poor diet, and wrongful conditioning of what we’re taught to eat that breaks the body down.
Therefore, once symptoms and issues start arising, there is work to be done to reverse the damage.
My program presently consists of 3 months of working with me:
1. An initial in depth meeting where my client and I discuss everything including health history, emotions, traumas, lifestyle, etc.
2. After the initial meeting, I compile a comprehensive personalized protocol for my client to follow Month to Month.
3. Weekly one hour calls are for follow up, to track progress, and identify major blocks which hinder the healing progress.
4. At the end of the 3 months, there is a guaranteed positive shift in the right direction towards actual healing and regeneration.
The success of the program is based on the client’s willingness to learn and be receptive to the information and guidance provided by me.
It’s also about implementation.
My client will also have complete clarity on how to eat and what lifestyle modifications to implement based on their individual needs.
No more running around MD visits or even alternative practices like I did for Years.
Everything is done from home which is phenomenal.
What’s unique about your coaching approach?
I’m not sure what’s unique so to speak.
Not to discredit other coaches as everyone (hopefully) is coming from a place of intention to help others.
But I am so confident that working with me for 3 months (given that the client is receptive and willing to do the work) will absolutely upgrade the client’s wellness in one aspect or more.
There will be no need to look to any other practitioner.
Depending on the level of degeneration, I am confident most can be coached back to an upgraded state of well being beyond what they thought possible.
Of course, there are some exceptions to everything such as having had the colon removed, multiple organs worked on surgically.
We are born with all the body parts for a REASON.
It’s harder to bring the body back to balance when too much has been done but at least we can halt the damage and the deterioration in their tracks and do the best we can with what we have.
My program consists of effective safe detoxification methods including intestinal and liver cleanses, resetting the microbiome, therefore strengthening our internal terrain and adding in regenerative nutrition as well as addressing specific inherited weaknesses.
What benefits do your clients get after working with you?
Better sleep, improved digestion, improved lymphatic system function, mental clarity, more energy without relying on stimulants, improved physical appearance including skin and weight, better hormonal profile, increased quality of life, unclogged detox pathways, clarity on diet which is huge because there is so much misinformation on this subject, heightened awareness as I love to focus on the pineal gland.
Even Anti aging as addressing health and wellness automatically slows and reverses the deterioration and degeneration process.
Do you use any specific tools to be efficient with your clients?
Yes.
Specific highest quality products and personalized protocols that will accelerate healing and accomplish beyond what traditional juicing and fasting alone would accomplish at a lesser degree.
I juiced and fasted and went vegan and tried countless supplements for years with little to no improvement in my own health issues.
Until I put all the pieces together and learned and practice what I know now.

What is the greatest lesson you have learned in your life?
Too many lessons to mention.
I will share a story or two in here.
In my nursing profession, I have met millionaires who have verbatim told me that they would give up their money to have their health back.
When I was working as a Home Care RN, I remember visiting a home that was so big and beautiful of a very wealthy family.
The outside looked so perfect.
When I entered the home, there was such sadness as one of the children of the owners was chronically ill.
There is literally (in my humble opinion) nothing else that surpasses the importance of having health and peace in your mind, body, and soul.
Most people buy the house or luxury bags, or cars before they think about investing in their wellness.
