Step by Step Guide for Rolling A Joint

There is no doubt that medicinal marijuana is becoming more and more famous all around the world.

Many doctors give prescriptions for it depending on the diagnosis.

There are many ways you can consume it, however, one of the most famous ones is smoking. But if you smoke you need to know how to roll.

The rolled up medicinal marijuana in paper ready for smoking is called a joint. First thing is first, before you learn to roll your joint you need to think about size and the amount ready to be rolled.

If you are a beginner we would suggest using a normal sized rolling paper. This is a good size if you are a beginner and you are just starting off. Starting with a smaller size will make rolling the joint more manageable.

Guide for Rolling A Joint:

Step One: Grind Your Medicinal Marijuana.

First step is to load your weed grinder. You will need to break the cannabis into smaller pieces and evenly distribute them among the teeth of your grinder. The central portion of the grinder is vital to the function of the grinder so keep this area clear of any buds. If your buds are well dried they should break down easily.

Close the lid of the grinder so that the lid fits perfectly and the magnetic centre fits in its place. Once the lid is secured you are ready to grind. Give your grinder a few twists in a gentle motion, you should feel a little bit of resistance depending on the quality of the grinder. Once you get to know your grinder you will learn the rotations needed to achieve your preferred fineness. We would recommend starting out with 7 to 10 twists.

To access the fine cannabis grip the base of the grinder and use your free hand to remove the top 2 sections using a twisting motion. Once you have accessed the chamber and the cannabis we can start the next step. Check this if you want to learn more about medicinal marijuana.

Step Two: Create Your Crutch or Filter.

A crutch is one of the easiest ways to make and smoke a standard joint. It is a mouth piece and serves a number of purposes including, keeping the joint open, to block bits of plant matter from getting in your mouth and insures you don’t burn your lips. To create the perfect crutch all you have to do is:

1. Add accordian style folds to the end of your crutch material in an ‘M’ shape.

2. Once you have made that shape, roll the remaining crutch material around the folded part. Ensure you have enough unfolded paper to wrap around completely. The final product should roll easily around your fingers.

3. Put the crutch at the end of your rolling paper and roll it into your joint.

Step Three: Fill.

All you have to do now is take your rolling paper and fill it with the shake you have from grinding your cannabis. If you’re using a filter or crutch place this in now too.

With one hand holding the paper, use your free hand to shape the joint and to move the cannabis around to where it’s evenly distributed across the paper.

Step Four: Roll.

You have loaded the joint and shaped it now is the time to roll it up. You can do this by pinching the paper between your fingertips and slowly roll it back and forth to pack the cannabis down.

Then lick the glued edge of the paper and roll one end down to hold it into place. If you’re using a filter, roll this end into place first.

It makes it easier and helps guide the paper as it rolls around itself. Work your way around the joint, tucking and sealing the joint as you go.

Step Five: Finalizing.

Now that you have rolled your joint, you should pack it to ensure an even burn. You can pack it by either using something like a pen or something of a similar shape to pack the cannabis down through the top of the joint or you can pinch the top of the joint and lightly flick the joint back and forth until it packs down.

If you would like to grow your own cannabis you could get it from a cannabis seed bank. This is a business which specializes in not only storing and selling cannabis seeds, but also on feminizing seeds to reduce the chance of male plants developing and maximize yields for commercial and individual growers.

You should keep in mind that we do not advise or promote the usage of cannabis. We are just sharing information that some readers might find helpful. It’s always the smartest decision to consult with your doctor before making an important decision for your health.
