What if the version of you that you’ve been trying to fix was never broken to begin with?
Wholeness invites you to step out of the exhausting cycle of self improvement and into a deeper, more compassionate relationship with yourself.
Instead of chasing a future version of “better,” this episode gently guides you back to the truth of who you already are… complete, whole, and inherently enough.
The Dr. Dolores Show: You Were Never Not Broken

Many people spend years trying to fix themselves.
They search for the next book, the next course, the next breakthrough that will finally make them feel worthy, safe, or complete.
Often, this journey begins because somewhere along the way they were told they were not enough.
Or perhaps they were told they were too much.
Too sensitive.
Too emotional.
Too loud.
Too ambitious.
Too different.
These messages become deeply rooted beliefs that shape how we see ourselves and move through the world.
The Trap of Self Improvement Without Self Acceptance
A common question many people ask is, “How can I fix myself so I can be better and finally feel safe in my life?”
At first glance, this seems like a healthy desire for growth.
But what if the constant need to fix yourself is actually keeping you stuck?
When we approach healing from the belief that something is wrong with us, we often reinforce the very wound we are trying to heal.
Instead of creating transformation, we continue the cycle of dysregulation disguised as growth.
The endless search for self improvement can become another way of avoiding self acceptance.
You Cannot Reject Yourself Into Wholeness
One of the greatest paradoxes of healing is that wholeness cannot be achieved through self rejection.
You cannot criticize yourself into confidence.
You cannot shame yourself into peace.
You cannot reject yourself into wholeness.
Real healing begins when you stop fighting who you are and start becoming curious about your experience.
This shift changes everything.
Instead of asking what is wrong with me, you begin asking what is trying to be understood.
The Wisdom of the Body
Many people spend most of their lives living in their heads.
They analyze, strategize, and overthink every feeling and experience.
Yet the body often knows what is happening long before the mind catches up.
It is important to pay attention to what your body is communicating.
The body is not confused.
It is responding.
Every sensation, emotion, and physical signal carries information.
When you stop trying to fix yourself, your body often begins to soften.
Tension decreases.
Breathing deepens.
A sense of safety starts to emerge.
Moving From Your Head to Your Heart
When you move from your head space into your heart space, your energy naturally expands.
The heart creates a different experience of life.
Instead of constantly evaluating yourself, you begin experiencing yourself.
Instead of judgment, there is curiosity.
Instead of resistance, there is acceptance.
This shift creates space for healing that force never could.
If You Are Not Broken, Then Who Are You?
One of the most powerful questions you can ask yourself is this:
What if I am not the one who needs fixing?
At first, this question can feel unsettling.
Many people have built entire identities around self improvement and personal development.
If you are not broken, then who are you?
If you are not a problem to solve, what remains?
Often what emerges is something far more authentic than the identity built around healing.
You begin discovering the person underneath the struggle.
The person underneath the stories.
The person underneath the constant need to become someone else.
The Space Between Who You Were and Who You Are Becoming
Sometimes healing feels confusing because old identities are falling away.
You may feel lost.
You may feel uncertain.
You may feel like you no longer recognize yourself.
But perhaps you are not lost at all.
Perhaps you are simply between identities.
You are moving toward something that is more aligned with who you truly are.
This in between space is not a mistake.
It is part of the process.
Wholeness Includes Everything
Many people believe wholeness means eliminating discomfort.
In reality, wholeness includes every part of the human experience.
Wholeness does not exclude.
It includes.
It makes room for joy and grief.
Confidence and uncertainty.
Strength and vulnerability.
When we are living from wholeness, our bodies remain more open even when life feels uncomfortable.
We stop resisting what is happening and start allowing ourselves to experience it fully.
The Miracle of Being Yourself
As Dr. Dolores Fazzino teaches, miracles begin when you stop identifying as someone who needs fixing.
The moment you release the belief that you are broken, something extraordinary happens.
Energy that was once spent on self criticism becomes available for growth.
Energy that was spent on resistance becomes available for creation.
Healing becomes less about becoming someone new and more about remembering who you have always been.
You do not need to become a different person.
You simply need to stop resisting the person you already are.
Listening Instead of Fixing
Your body is not asking to be fixed.
It is asking to be heard.
Your emotions are not asking to be eliminated.
They are asking to be acknowledged.
Your life is not asking you to become perfect.
It is inviting you to become present.
The path to wholeness is not found through endless self correction.
It is found through acceptance, awareness, and listening deeply to what has been there all along.
Perhaps the person you have been searching for is not someone you need to become.
Perhaps it is the person you already are.
In this powerful conversation, Dr. Dolores Fazzino dismantles the belief that healing requires fixing, changing, or improving yourself…
