Every single person wants a secure relationship and a partner that is trustworthy. But cheaters are everywhere. A lot of us will experience their partner cheating.
Men with a deeper voice are rated by women as more likely to cheat on a partner and as less trustworthy in general.
Women prefer such men with deeper voices for short term rather than long term relationships, according to studies.
Another interesting thing about this discovery is that when women are breastfeeding their child or just nurture it, they prefer men with high pitched voices.
This suggests women use something in men’s voices to try to assess how likely to cheat they are, as well as their general trustworthiness. There was a study that proved this.
The Study:
A recent study from researchers in the US suggests that people can spot a cheater just by listening to their voice.
However, when we are in a relationship we tend to ignore these subtle clues that tell us something is not quite right with our relationship.
Participants in this study were played recordings of people speaking and given no other background information about them.
The participants successfully rated cheaters as more likely to cheat than non cheaters. Interestingly, women were better at this task than men.
Currently researchers don’t know what cues the participants used to judge whether the voices came from cheaters.
It is not only women who can pick up on men’s vocal cues of good genes and likelihood to cheat, and use it to their benefit.
A woman’s voice changes during her menstrual cycle when she is not using contraceptive pills.
Perhaps unsurprisingly, men find women’s voices most attractive when the women are near ovulation, when they are most fertile, than at other times of the month.
So when you start to pick up subtle intuitive clues out of someone’s voice, trust your intuition, chances are you are right. Here are other ways you can know if someone cheats.

1. They avoid eye contact.
Can you remember a time when you did something bad as a child, or when you tried to hide something from someone? You probably avoided eye contact with the person. This is because looking at someone’s eyes creates connection between the two people and when there is connection we can feel the other person’s pain, happiness, excitement. Avoiding eye contact means the person avoids connection with you for some reason.
2. Their emotional connection seems distant.
If you have a partner you most likely feel emotionally connected with them. You share how you feel or felt during the day and they share their feelings too. If your partner suddenly starts being emotionally distant, if they stop sharing emotional information with you, there is something wrong. If they try to avoid when you share your emotions, or just answer with polite and shallow answers, you should speak with them.
3. They are not asking questions.
A person who builds a relationship with someone will want to know about the other person’s day. It’s normal for your partner to ask you questions. However, if they suddenly stop asking you anything for a longer period of time, and just converse in shallow topics, it means they are hiding something. A person who doesn’t want to be asked a question avoids asking other people questions.
4. There is something off about them.
You know your partner best. If there seems to be something off about them you should sit them down and speak to them. They might be going through some rough stuff and they might don’t want to tell you because they would appear vulnerable. Sit with them and let them know that the space between you two is safe space and they can share what’s wrong. If they don’t tell you anything, trust your intuition, there’s something off about them.
5. Their story doesn’t add up.
And the final clue that should tell someone is cheating is the stories they tell. A lier will usually tell a complicated story. They will try to make sense of things and they will complicate the story they tell. Try to test their story. Other clues of someone lying is they always tell the story as a third person, they will rarely speak about details to paint the picture. Look for these clues, test their story, and see if it aligns with reality.
