Find Life Coach | Meet Dana Bagdasarian: How to Regulate Your Nervous System to Create Lasting Change?

Dana Bagdasarian is one of the coaches that we found this month and we did a little interview with her. She impressed us with her passion and experience.

She began her path in the classroom, where she witnessed how self awareness, structured goal setting, and personal responsibility can change lives, later expanding this foundation into an integrative coaching practice rooted in nervous system understanding and lasting transformation.

She brings a powerful combination of education, compassion, and real world experience to her coaching, shaped by decades of mentoring and guiding people through meaningful personal growth.

She is driven by a deep commitment to helping people reconnect with themselves, build emotional resilience, and create balance, clarity, and fulfillment in every stage of life. Here is what she said…

Meet Life Coach Dana Bagdasarian:

Name: Dana Bagdasarian

Pillar: The Mind, The Body, The Heart

Who is this coach for:Anyone who wants emotional balance, self awareness, and practical tools for lasting personal growth.

How they can help: By educating and guiding clients using nervous system work, hypnosis, and coaching to create healthier habits and meaningful change.

The Origin:

Tell us about you, your career, how you started with your coaching career?

I taught high school social studies beginning in 1999 in inner city Los Angeles where I mentored students from grades 9 to 12 academically, personally, and professionally.

This included my role as ASB Director, where I was in charge of student body government, fundraisers, all school activities, and schoolwide charity events.

Every semester from the beginning, I had my students write out their five goals for the semester to break them into manageable steps.

I passed their goals back at each five week grading period so they could assess their progress, write notes to themselves, and pivot if needed.

At the end of the semester, they assessed their own progress, evaluated the viability of their chosen goals, and gave themselves feedback based on their progress notes.

All these years later, I am still very close with several of my former students and feel incredibly lucky to watch them achieve their life goals.

After having my own children, I volunteered at all levels of their classrooms.

I led art programs, tutored students, actively worked as a teacher’s aide, and served as a role model for children of all ages.

This naturally led me to pursue a career as a hypnotherapist, EFT Tapping Practitioner, and Mental Welfare Coach.

I have always helped people realize their potential.

What was your biggest obstacle that you had to overcome in your life that made you who you are today?

This is an interesting question because, like everyone, I have faced several people and events that were major obstacles.

It is easier to point to external challenges than to acknowledge the deepest one of all.

My biggest obstacle has been my habit of holding on to things for too long.

When something very painful happened to me, I had a hard time getting back up on a deeper level.

I am resilient and have survived many difficult experiences.

If I am honest, what I truly had to overcome was not what people or events did to me, but my reaction to them.

This was not about the moment itself, but about my ability to shake it off and move forward.

Historically, I held tightly to hurtful experiences because they were shocking and devastating.

That reaction was understandable in the moment.

However, when I found myself still stuck in the pain months or even years later, even though I believed I had moved on, it had the greatest impact on who I became.

We all know that we can only control ourselves.

I knew this as well.

It still took me a long time to truly understand that I had to shift my own feelings, experiences, and actions in order to grow and move forward.

The Coaching Style:

How do you innovate with coaching your clients?

I am constantly learning new information.

I am a lifelong learner.

I have a BA in Philosophy with minors in Political Science and Gender Studies.

I also hold a Secondary Teaching Certificate with a major in history.

I earned a Masters in American Studies.

Over the years, I have attended many institutions worldwide to pursue degrees and certificates in Hypnosis, Mental Welfare Coaching, NLP, Trauma Release, EFT Tapping, and several other specialized modalities.

I am currently pursuing studies on the nervous system, breath work, and further NLP techniques.

Because I have so many modalities at my fingertips, I am able to meet the client wherever they are.

Together, we determine the next best steps for their needs.

My first emphasis is always on education, because at heart I am an educator.

No matter the presenting issue, every new client learns about their nervous system and how their body works.

Next, we explore their goals and make sure their unconscious mind is aligned with any changes that need to be made.

Homework is always part of the process, since long term change rests on the client’s follow through.

Highlighting curiosity, encouraging experimentation, and strengthening the many positive traits clients already possess are essential parts of the process.

What’s unique about your coaching approach?

I educate clients throughout our entire time working together.

My goal is to help them become self sufficient as quickly as possible.

I work very well with people of all ages.

My current clients range from 7 to 78.

In 2026, I will be expanding my work into group settings.

This includes both the corporate space and celebratory events.

I am passionate about helping as many people as possible.

I genuinely love efficiency.

My experience managing and teaching over 40 students at a time while keeping learning fun has shaped my ability to create individualized experiences within group settings.

I am especially excited about milestone birthday parties, bridal showers, bachelorette parties, and baby showers.

It is deeply rewarding to help people strengthen their connections with those they love.

Many people want more from their gatherings than simply eating and drinking together for a few hours.

Workplace pressures can lead to many challenges that are best addressed proactively.

This approach creates a true win win situation.

Costs decrease for companies, talent retention improves, and employees feel more connected while learning tools they can use both inside and outside of work.

I love working with anyone who is truly ready to do the work and create the life they want.

This includes individuals of any age or life stage, groups, and audiences who engage with our podcast, Hypnosis and Beyond.

What benefits do your clients get after working with you?

My clients experience better sleep.

They create healthier habits.

They deepen their self love and relationships with others.

They overcome fears and phobias.

They gain tools that allow them to live life on their own terms.

Do you use any specific tools to be efficient with your clients?

My approach varies on a case by case basis.

I always give clients homework to practice the tools they learn during our sessions.

I frequently use conversational hypnosis.

I also use NLP language patterns to quickly access the root of the issues we are exploring.

Breathing techniques are beneficial for everyone.

One powerful example is the physiological sigh.

This involves a deep inhale through the nose.

You then take a small additional sip of air at the top.

This is followed by a long, slow exhale through the mouth while making a sighing sound.

It is one of the quickest and easiest ways to reset your nervous system and regain control of emotions that may be derailing your goals.

The Impact:

If you had a super megaphone that, when you speak into, the whole world will hear your message, what would you say?

Learn how your nervous system works.

What is the greatest lesson you have learned in your life?

Listen to your gut, even when it requires making a difficult choice in the moment.

It is far worse to know you had the right answer within you and ignored it.

Your final thoughts?

I have spent my life in professions that allow me to help people see themselves in ways that inspire them to achieve more.

My goal is to nurture self love.

I also aim to spread the message that taking action to live in alignment with your values leads to a more fulfilling life.
