Find Life Coach | Meet Leanne Bala: How to Find Your Path to Purpose?

167

Leanne Bala is one of the coaches that we found this month and we did a little interview with her. She impressed us with her immense passion for coaching and her huge heart.

She is an ICF Accredited Career and Life Purpose Coach. She is the owner of “Find Your Path to Purpose”. And she worked in the healthcare field in various roles for over 12 years. However, she didn’t find any fulfillment in that industry. Especially when she saw that they were trained to treat mostly the physical symptoms and not the real underlying causes of disease. But that didn’t stop her to follow her own style and help whomever she can help.

She is a person that feels deeply and this sensitivity was her greatest obstacle in life… At least that’s what she taught. After careful consideration and years of self reflection, she realized that it was her greatest strength, what makes her uniqe. What actually held her back was not accepting who she was because of other people’s judgment.

Her coaching approach is unique. One of a kind. When she helps people she is not just coaching, she goes above and beyond to really help them. She can literally come and help you clean your room if she finds in her coaching wisdom that it will transform your life. Here is what she said.

First of all, how are you and your family doing after these Pandemic times?

My family and I are doing well.

There have been highs and lows, but we face them together and find ways to work through them.

Communication is huge for us, life is not perfect, there are things that we unfortunately don’t have control over, so I am trying to teach my 7 year old son that the only thing we do have control over is the way we respond to the circumstance’s life throws our way.

How did the coronavirus pandemic affect your clients? Did it affect you at all?

I think the coronavirus has affected us all a little differently.

Some of my clients are doing quite well, given the circumstances and some of them have had to readjust their lives, but it’s my responsibility to help get through any challenges they are facing.

What are the biggest lessons that you learned in this pandemic?

I think the biggest lesson I learned through the pandemic is that in life there will always be certain situations that are out of my control and that it’s important to not waste time dwelling on it and instead to focus my energy on the things that were in my power.

I started to play around with the way I perceive different situations and began to view things in a way that lifted my spirit.

I also learned to let go of my need for certainty.

I realized that there were a lot of things in my life that held me back because I was unsure of the outcome, for example starting my own business and following my passions.

By letting go of expectations and accepting uncertainty it allowed me to be open to different possibilities and opportunities.

The Origin:

Tell us about you, your career, how you started with your coaching career?

I am an ICF Accredited Career and Life Purpose Coach and owner of “Find Your Path to Purpose”.

I have worked in the healthcare field in various roles for over 12 years, however I found myself feeling very unfulfilled.

There were a lot of things I liked about my job, but I was never in a position where I could devote myself to the patients like I wanted to, especially the ones I knew really needed the extra support and attention.

Our focus was on physical symptoms even though most of the patients were in the state they were in due to a variety of stress triggers and past and reoccurring trauma.

The only time I found some sort of gratification was when I was going out of my way, and out of my job responsibilities helping the patients that I knew needed the extra assistance.

For example, we had one patient who was dying from liver failure, and often homeless, she was a severe alcoholic and the things she had experienced in her life were horrific.

She expressed to me that she never graduated and wanted to change her life around and find a stable home.

I arranged for her to attend alcohol abuse programs and therapy, helped her fill out grant applications for housing and for her to get her GED.

I soon began to realize I was in the wrong profession.

I needed a career that gave me purpose.

I had a heart and a drive to give more of myself to the people that needed it.

At this time in my life, I was also struggling with both mental and physical health problems.

I was diagnosed with Fibromyalgia, Major Depressive Disorder and Generalized Anxiety.

I realized that me living a life that was out of alignment with my true path was causing me to be ill, hence the name of my business, “Find Your Path to Purpose.”

It is my passion and my life’s mission to help others find their path to purpose so they can live their life with passion and experience true joy and fulfillment.

What was your biggest obstacle that you had to overcome in your life that made you who you are today?

I would say the biggest obstacle I have had to overcome in my life is accepting me for who I am.

All my life my personality was criticized by people I trusted.

I was kind of labeled as the black sheep.

I was always too much of something, too emotional, too insecure, too sensitive, too hyper, too happy, too kind, too loud, too annoying, and I grew up not really knowing how to be or who to be.

So, when I decided to own who I was and to stop putting value on other people’s negative perceptions of me, that’s when I started to feel confident and comfortable in my own skin.

I think self love and self acceptance is a such an important personal journey that everyone needs to take the time to go through.

I realized that other people’s opinions of me, were quite frankly none of my business and, in fact, their opinions were actually a direct reflection of who they were, not of who I was.

Once I began to have this mind set, I became free to just be me.

I started to honor my natural God given skills of being able to connect with people on a deeper level, I started to respect and value my softness and overly compassionate heart instead of believing it made me weak.

The Coaching Style:

How do you innovate with coaching your clients?

I coach my clients with passion and drive.

I meet them where they are at.

I don’t just do typical 45 to 60 min sessions with my clients, I give them what they need.

One of my clients struggles with hoarding, so I not only coach her around this but I spend hours with her cleaning, organizing, and filing, without any additional charge. Why? Because she deserves it.

I got into this business to help change people’s lives, to show up for people in a way they have never experienced before. Why? Again, because they deserve it.

I think being an effective coach is providing your clients with results, and achieving results takes time, energy, focus and determination, not only on their part but on the coach’s part as well.

What’s unique about your coaching approach?

I think what my makes my coaching approach unique is that I’m always willing to go above and beyond what’s expected of me as a coach.

I don’t just look at my coaching as a service that I am offering, overall, it’s a total life changing transformation that I offer my clients.

What benefits do your clients get after working with you?

After working with me, my clients feel more confident, passionate, are more self aware and have clarity around their passions and purpose.

They have the ability to view situations from different perspectives and have learnt ways to better handle stress and anxiety.

They feel excited about their future and facing their fears becomes more of a motivational challenge.

They understand how to set goals and create action plans.

Overall, my clients feel a sense of peace, like they are finally on the right path, their path to purpose.

Do you use any specific tools to be efficient with your clients?

I think one of the most beneficial tools I use in my coaching program is called the Behavior Change Coaching Method (BCCM).

This approach helps address the three layers of change, behavior, beliefs, and identity at an increasingly deeper and deeper levels.

By doing this my clients learn how to unwind self defeating behaviors and patterns and stabilize healthy habits that last!

The Impact:

If you had a super megaphone that, when you speak into, the whole world will hear your message, what would you say?

If I had a megaphone I would say, don’t listen to the people that doubt you, or question your capabilities or even the voice inside your head that tells you, you’re not good enough, it’s all lies!

You are enough, you are MORE than enough, but you just don’t know it yet.

You don’t have to continue down a path that’s no longer serving you.

You get to decide the life that you want!

You are in control of the path you want to take or create and its never too late to find your purpose!

What is the greatest lesson you have learned in your life?

The greatest lesson I have learned in life is how important establishing boundaries are for yourself.

This adjustment has given me the confidence to pursue a life that is serving me, in all the right ways.

I have standards for myself and for the people I allow in my life.

I have learned to respect and value myself and to not move forward in a direction that is not honoring my peace and happiness.

Your final thoughts?

Life is hard!

But we don’t have to go through it alone.

There are many qualified experts out there that are able to support people who need it, and I am so thankful that I have choose a career path that helps me do that!
