The Main Reason Why ‘Clean Beauty’ is The Best Option for Your Skin

Did you know that our skin is the largest organ in our body?

The skin can absorb any product applied to it within 60 seconds. This makes it important to consider what you are applying to your skin.

The traditional skincare products are meant to clean the skin from any dirt or bacteria.

However, the chemicals in them are proven to be harmful to our health.

They are easily absorbed by our bloodstream.

What is a “Clean” product?

According to skincare provider Kari Gran, clean beauty skincare products that are made up of organic, natural, or plant based ingredients that act as a powerhouse of antioxidants, vitamins, and minerals, can be called “Clean” products.

For a product to be called “clean” it should be completely natural, plant based and organic.

If it meets these three requirements, the product is NPO and it is considered as “Clean” one.

These type of products restore the skin’s balance without adversely affecting our health.

Why ‘Clean Beauty’ is The Best Option:

The “Clean” skincare products help to naturally restore our skin by providing it with hydration without any added chemicals.

The oils present in clean skincare products trap the moisture and helps cushion any tight skin by creating a mesh over the skin.

Some of the plant based oils include avocado oil, eucalyptus oil, tea seed oil, rosehip seed oil among others.

These oils are hygroscopic or water loving in nature and get quickly absorbed into the body without leaving an oily residue.

Most of these “clean” products are especially ideal for sensitive skin, unless stated otherwise by your unique condition and your dermatologist.

What are The Type of Ingredients You Should Avoid in Skincare Products:

You might not be able to completely replace your cosmetics with healthier choices that are completely “clean” meaning they are natural, plant based and organic.

That’s ok, you don’t have to go all in towards clean skincare.

If you cannot go completely NPO, at least try to avoid the products with the most harmful contents.

Here is a list of harmful chemicals that may be found in regular skincare products:

Lead, Phthalates, Mineral Oil, Nanoparticles, Sulfates, Petrochemicals, Petroleum, Parabens, Artificial Fragrances.

The enzymes present in our body attack these unknown chemicals as soon as they enter our body making them toxic.

This can have harmful effects on our health resulting in allergies, skin rashes, diabetes, and obesity.

In some cases, it may lead to other complications such as endocrine disruption, infertility, cardiovascular diseases, and cancer.

Due to such detrimental health issues surrounding regular skincare products, it is important to move to clean beauty skincare that is free from carcinogenic elements and can naturally restore the body’s self healing capabilities.

Still you should be aware of the labels.

Today, the trend of “clean” beauty skincare is completely sweeping the nation as more and more people become aware of the harmful effects that the ingredients in their products have.

Right from retailers, to cosmetic companies and even consumers, want to make the switch to “clean” skincare.

While switching to “clean” skincare, it is crucial to understand that the FDA has not passed any regulations that define ‘non toxic’, ‘clean’, or ‘natural’ claims.

Due to this, most cosmetic companies are seen labeling their products as they wish without substantiating these claims.

Consumers should be careful when making a switch to clean beauty and not fall for this marketing scheme.

It is recommended to carefully review all the ingredients while selecting skincare products.

“Clean” beauty is not a magical cure to reach impossible skincare standards.

The “Clean” beauty skincare should be looked more as food for your body that is meant to nourish the skin and make it soft, supple, and refreshed.

We are not just out of Nature, we are part of Nature. So everything that we consume we should make sure that is good for the Nature we embody but also the Nature that we are surrounded with. It involves making and using products with a few natural ingredients that are beneficial to the body as well as the environment.
